This is my hope that I feel is closest to potentially happening, but with Young back I'm dreading the very real possibility that we'll be back to the shitty 3-5-2. :(

Well, we know Van Persie is starting since Van Gaal said post match that's why he got substituted.

    Rafael - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera - Di Maria
    Rooney
    van Persie - Wilson

Would be ideal set up. Probably get Rooney RCM, with Fellaini playing beside RvP like he did today. I wouldn't play Mata, these are the sort of matches he struggles with.

Big big game for us, we simply have to win otherwise I can see us dropping down to 5th :(

I would drop RVP and play rooney upfront but we know that would not happen!

feck knows what team/system we'll play with but I'm guessing Herrera won't be in it!

Hopefully can have a nice convincing performance and 3 points... yeah, asking too much? I'll take the 3 points then!

Can't see anything but a bore score draw. We're not the best away from home and West Ham are not bad at Upton Park.

I agree but considering the players they will be missing its pretty poor for our top4 hopes if we don't win this weekend for me. On paper its laughably one sided but we somehow manage to even things out on the day every weekend.

Yup, we just have to go back to the Cambridge away FA cup game. Be a fantastic result if we can beat the hammers. Got to be winning all games as our March and April fixture list is shitty

As usual, anything but 352 and I'll be pleased.

    Ideally:

    DDG
    Rafael Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Rooney
    RVP Falcao
...but I wouldn't mind that much if we saw Fellaini instead of either Herrera or one of the strikers, and I'd be very surprised if we don't.

Might be one of the toughest games we will play this season. Credit to Allardyce for the work he has done at the club and has built a team that is not only defensively resolute but has pace and power going forwards as well.

I think we will go for a similar theme to what we have seen in the previous two games. A relatively offensive midfield with Di Maria, Rooney and Fellaini all playing in front of Blind. Will have RVP and Falcao up top as well.

This could be a massive game for us in the race for third place so hope for a positive result.

Its a perfect game to try build confidence with our new formation (old?) diamond. I just hope LVG has to balls to play attacking football and not this 352 shit.

I've given up hope of Herrera or Rafael starting any time soon. Away match to a big, physical side? Fellaini definitely staying in, probably dropping Mata. I can see the 352 coming back or maybe McNair and Rojo as fullbacks again.

    352
DDG / Jones, Smalling, Rojo / Valenica, Blind, Rooney, di Maria, Young / Falcao, RVP

    442
DDG / McNair, Jones, Smalling, Rojo / Blind / Rooney, Fellaini / di Maria / Falcao, RVP

    Falcao van Persie

I expect this, but maybe Valencia over Rafael.

West Ham has always been one of the toughest away games, even when United have been in great form in the past.
It is also highly possible that one or both of Southampton or the Arse will have gone above us by then, which will add a bit of pressure.

That's a bit ambitious. Swap Rooney and Di Maria and you've probably got it though

West ham have put in some great performances at home this season, and they've got a good group of players. I think we can nick a win, but I imagine it will be pretty ugly to watch. I hope we start as brightly as we did against Spurs away, but actually put the ball in the net this time.

It's 3 defenders, 4 midfielders and 3 strikers really, though.

Same back 4 as Tuesday, would prefer someone else but Evans but that's hard with our defenders. Rojo and McNair were class as fullbacks.

Di Maria for me plays better in the centre but no way will Rooney be played as a No10. Suppose Fellaini could play there and have a Rooney/Di Maria partnership in the middle.

Would like to see Shaw start and McNair given another go at RB. LvG seems to insist in RVP starting, so it will be him and Falcao up top and Rooney in midfield again.
Not sure we really need Fellaini to start using the same role as against CU. West Ham won't play as deep so we should try and play thought them, for whichFellaini doesn't compute!
More than capable of getting a comfortable result on Sunday.

Cheery feckers aren't you? We've done well the last 2 games. More than well enough to beat a depleted west ham.

I would gladly take a draw if offered now. It's an away game and West Ham are no pushovers. Heck, we cant even beat Cambridge away not long ago.
These people who give up before the game has even been played make me laugh.

We only had Moyes for 1 season you know, we can go back to being proper United fans now, even if what's happening on the pitch isn't quite what we've come to expect.
