West ham in fairness to them have got lot of good results against the better teams this season.

3-0 away win against Leicester whom had zero shots on target in that match. 4-0 at home to Wolves, 3-3 away to Spurs, 1-1 at home to Man City.

Only recent defeat was 2-1 in Anfield against Liverpool and that was late winner.

Ole is the luckiest manager I have ever seen.
And when I say "lucky" I mean, lucky for him to save his job. Not lucky for us to win a string of games to win a trophy.
That luck has got to run out eventually. Bruno can't keep bailing him out forever. I'll take losing the battle to win the war any day of the week.

I hope we rest players because Tuesday Champions league game is more important.

By the way, we played on Wednesday and this match is on Saturday? Isn't this the second time it has happened this season. Fixture congestion is isane this season. Hopefully we go through December without any major injury

It's nigh on impossible to predict what United team will show up so why even bother speculating!
    This.

If we win its a nice surprise.
If we lose, I kind of expect it.

There's a thread in the mains about the possibility of United winning the league. Deary me

The way the fixtures have been scheduled, I suspect there will be a lot of players missing for the Euro's.

Thankfully we're away, and lest we forget - its Moyes, lads.

Anyway I'd actually start Mason over Martial, and perhaps Matic/VDB in midfield too. Cavani should probably be rested but considering Martial is doing his Stevie Wonder world tour tribute act, I'd probably start him again.

Istanbul 2-1 flash back all over again.

Same XI as when we beat Istanbul 4-1.

I'll rest Bruno in RB Leipzig game not in this game. This game is a must win game while RB Leipzig is just a game where we can get away with a draw.

Fred is banned for the leipzig match so he'll definitely play, think it'll be Scott/Fred/Bruno again.

Think Rashford might miss out on this one with his arm injury, probably Martial/Cavani/Greenwood.

But not considering how fired up Leipzig will be. They need a win and us going in with a complacent ' we only need a draw' attitude will cost us. They won't be as defensively naive

Pick a side to win both games.

we simply need to take our chances and we will win this. the team has been playing some nice stuff over the past few weeks. excluding the game away at turkey and at home to Arsenal. i'm certain we are capable to much more then results are currently showing. Martial needs dropping ASAP, otherwise same team as VS Southampton with Mctominay in for Matic.

Dropping Bruno to play Pogba against RB Leipzig isn't a 'we only need a draw attitude'.

That was known before the start. Ole still picked the starting eleven for the useless Europa League. If we enter that shitty competition again, i would sack him Tuesday night

I'm sorry but you posted 'we only need a draw,' comment, not me.

God help us if you think Pogba is the man to inspire us
It doesn't mean we should go for the match for a draw. It means we can rest Bruno in RB Leipzig game. The guy has been constantly playing non-stop in both club & country.

Right, now that's what I think the attitude should be. It's a winnable game as long as we do not take RBL for granted. They are playing for their UCL life here.

Resting Bruno and playing Pogba doesn't mean we take them for granted. Pogba isn't some average player.

I take it you've seen him play for us lately?:smirk:

He isn't average by any means but he has to show the same commitment and ability to influence a game as Bruno. There's no doubt he can

Yeah I saw that thread here where poster mentioned to throw away the Europa league. I was like why would we even think like that. But in hindsight, that would have been a correct decision.

Not the place for it but if we lose on Tuesday, I personally will be close to depression :( we have waited a long time and after such a great start, this will be hard to take.

Best we play Saturday, as playing Sunday would only leave 1 day rest.

That's probably the best way of using the squad over the next 2 games. We will have to rotate, although I doubt Ole will be willing to rest Bruno on Saturday. Rashford might sit it out if his shoulder is acting up.

Need to get an injury update on Rashford before selecting a starting 11. I think Ole will play McFred but I'd play Van de Beek in Bruno's role as I tink he needs a rest before the Leipzig.
Ole never rests players. If Bruno & Rashford say they can play (which they will) then expect them to start.

Ole is all about self preservation. He knows a loss to West Ham puts him under massive pressure. He’ll play his strongest team. This is a man who played Paul Pogba against Rochdale with a broken foot.

I take it you haven't watched us beat RB Leipzig when we rested Bruno and play Pogba. Pogba is now just a backup for Bruno and if there is the most suitable match among West Ham, RB Leipzig & City to rest Bruno & play Pogba again it'll be RB Leipzig match.

Didn’t we start without Rashford and Bruno in a very important game against Leipzig? I know he plays our best players almost all the time (as most managers do), but “Ole never rests players” is just not true.

Fair enough. I guess that’s just pent up frustration with him. It annoys me that he plays players who are clearly not 100% like Rashford & Lindelof right now, Maguire at times last season. It’s not helpful to the team. I’d rather have a 100% Mata, Lingard or James out there than a barely 50% Rashford. Give the kid a rest ffs. Is Tuanzebe that much worse than Lindelof that he can’t deputise when Lindelof can barely move at the moment? Give him a rest for crying out loud.

It’s tricky with Rashford. If he is still suffering from his back and / or other injuries then he would actually need a rest for a few months. If we can afford this is a completely different question, albeit a big one.
But he has left Greenwood out a lot recently (reasons provided were illness and minor injury) and used Cavani as a sub until the last few games due to his injury record and lack of game time in the last 8 months (resulting in a meltdown here with people wondering why he wasn’t starting Cavani). He could use Axel now more often but before that he was out for 10 months and Bailly can’t stay fit for more than 200 minutes in a row so Maguire and Lindelöf had to play all the time. Ideally we need to give players rest especially this season but it’s really hard with the amount of games being played currently.

Anyone think Bruno might get a rest for this one? He’s played a lot of football lately and, with the crucial UCL game and then Man City, surely that’s what we bought VDB for?

I think it is going to be a sad sad state of affairs at West Ham. We haven't done well against them last season and it seems we'll have trouble this time around too. With fans allowed at West Ham, it will be a daunting task for us. I hope we overcome the odds and keep that away run going. Come on lads, we have to move up the table and this is a good chance before we face off Leipzig in the decider and head to OT to face our city rivals. Tough week ahead.

Given we lost and there was a lot of negativity after PSG, I fully expect us to steamroll WHUM 4-0 get our tails up and then lose to RBL and crash out the CL.

The BBC are running an article on the last game at the Boleyn. How is that in any way relevant to this game?
Here's to smashing 4 past them just because of that.

Ah Moyes. Not looking forward to this. Have a feeling they're going to get a result against us and then Moyes will be on the post match interview still saying he should have gotten more time at United. Hope I'm wrong and we smash five past them and that cretin.
