Last season we created so many chances and should have been out of sight, and then conceded stupid goals after missing shit loads.

Hopefully we won't be wasteful this season.

Yeah I still can't believe we drew 1 and lost 2. We were the better side in all matches - and gave away stupid goals in all of them. Time to put it right.

I'd play exactly the same team, with Pereira again in midfield. Its difficult to expect him, or others, to produce quality performances if they keep drifting in and out of the team. Give them a run of games and see what they can do. I'd put Fred on the bench instead of Matic.
But it’s a different type of game so we need different players.

Wolves are a tough team, and it's our first away game of the season. I'd probably take a draw to be honest.

Three cars are better at carrying things than two, and on the same stretch of road can box the opposition in through superior numbers.
But we have the McToyota Rav4 that is happy to go off road and do the dirty work.

    Draw my ass.

Our confidence is high, Wolves not got their rhythm yet and their strikers prey on mistakes, which isn't a given against our new backline.

    Comfortable win.

Tough game, made harder by the fact it's their first home game of the league and being played in the evening. Will be a very good 3 points if we get them.

These'll be a tougher opponent than Chelsea, strange as that is to say. Brilliant last season and they've made some stellar signings.

We'll want to have more in midfield than we did today. Could try Fred instead of Pereira but there's no guarantee he'd be any less shaky at the moment. I'd be seriously tempted to just throw Gomes straight in at the deep end. If you want more control of the ball but still want to be able to spring sharp counter-attacks, why not?

Despite the fantastic start I already miss Herrera. If we'd kept hold of him I really don't think the moaning about our midfield would have much justification, but we've sold one of our most reliable players and not brought in any kind of replacement.
Who did they sign that's stellar?

Why is everyone saying this will be Ole's first real test ffs? Can never figure some people out.

Chelsea was a massive result.. That was our first real test. Wolves is the next one. Plenty of time for rest and recovery and we go again.

Chelsea played better than Wolves did against Leicester. Am going to go with a 2-0 win for United.

Hate to admit but I think this will be a 0-0.
I’ll be happy with a point away to Wolves, they have a decent manager and a decent settled squad unlike Chelsea, so forget about Sunday the next game is going to be a lot more difficult.

Saying that we might just be able to hit them in the break but I think their manager will have them prepared a damn sight better than Lampard had Chelsea.

A draw wouldn’t be the worst result, wolves away is a tough game there won’t be many teams beating them at Molineux this season.

Point there then 3 points at home to Palace. 7/9 points would be a decent start to the season.

Wolves won't give us the opportunity to break like Chelsea

this will be a tight game buy buoyed by the great result yesterday I fancy us to nick it 1 nil.

We were all over the place against Jota and Jimenez last time out - hopefully much different story this time out

We were awful in midfield and need to be more compact. The system and intensity Wolves will play will hurt us a lot.

We absolutely need to be more solid in our attempt to counter attack.

Ball retention were poor and we will need to be better.

You say that but chelsea could have scored 3 or 4 yesterday. We simultaneously looked leaky and solid. It was very odd.

I still think we'll have enough.

Wolves had 30% possession against Leicester. Doubt we'll have many chances to counter as we'll always have the ball.

Will be interesting to see how Wolves wanna play at home, they were happy to surrender possession against Leicester and try and hit them on the break.

If we can deliver or improve on yesterday's second half performance should be a fairly comfortable win. Have to start a lot quicker mind and don't let Wolves build any early momemtum, they are a very decent side when they have their tails up.

Bit of a bogey team last year. 3 games no wins, 1 draw, 2 losses.

Call me pessimistic, but I'd bite you hand off if offered a point right now.

    was thinking this

on the other hand we will be able to defend with a high line, we wont be panicked in defence, we will control the game much better - maybe a game for Mata

They’ve been a bogey team for some time now. Beat us 1-0 in 2004 when they got relegated, and ended our unbeaten season in 2011, beating us 2-1 when they nearly got relegated. Now they’re a good side they beat us twice in a month last year. Would take a draw from this to be quite honest.

I'd expect us to go with the same side that started against Chelsea.

Pereira was unimpressive for the majority of the game, but got an assist and I think Ole will want to build his confidence up by starting him again next week.

I think we'll just surrender the ball and let them come on to us and hit them on the break. Either that or we'll go with a high press and keep them camped in their own box?

Expecting the counter to be honest, Wolves hurt us last season with counters of their own.

defensively we were at our worst in the last game

we were shambolic at the back in the league game too with a Smalling OG
Youd expect us to deal a lot better with their breaks

Wolverhampton is a high-mid league table team that's had the good fortune of having a squad that has completely sold into the managers vision, and are not to be overlooked. Their squad is improved since last season. The game against Leicester (what little i actually saw myself) was so-so, but Leicester is not a bad team either.

That being said, Wolves have a rather astonishing track record against the top6 teams last season:

    Home

    Manchester City - 1-1 Draw
    Tottenham 2-3 Loss
    Chelsea 2-1 Win
    Liverpool 0-2 Loss
    Liverpool (FA Cup) 2-1 Win
Manchester Unitd (FA Cup) 2-1 Win
    Manchester United 2-1 Win
    Arsenal 2-1 Win

    Away

    Manchester United - 1-1 Draw
    Arsenal - 1-1 Draw
    Tottenham 3-1 Win
    Manchester City 3-0 Loss
    Chelsea 1-1 Draw
    Liverpool 2-0 Loss

    6 Wins
    4 Draw
    4 Losses

4 Losses against Top6 sides. Tottenham lost 9 games against Top6 sides last season. (Including CL final).

This team is no joke against great opposition, we should not take this game for granted in any way shape or form.

That being said I do firmly believe that we've improved enough from last year, and that the boys have something to prove to everyone but mostly themselves. Morals will be running mile high after dismantling Chelsea. Wolves will be very defensive minded. I think Daniel James might get a start in this one over Pereira. There might be early yellow cards from late tackles which will open his lane up.

Wolves outshone us in midfield last season, I'm not expecting any difference this season as we have not addressed this area, which is even weaker now. We will have a lot of defending to do, and I hope we can hold on for a draw. 0-0.

If Wolves play a back line of 5 with another line of 4, there is normally no space since they would compress it and defend low, no? Would James be really useful? Just wondering. In this position, we need players to be technically good and still make some movement to see if we can displace a bit the defensive block.
