    fecking awful performance.

There are some deep problems in this side that need addressing.

Until they are sorted we are just a poor side getting away with it.

Then I can't be wonder if it's just some kind of reverse-jinx thing (and thus not really worth the effort of 'naming and shaming',) especially if we are playing the likes of Yeovil.
Or folk take themselves too seriously with this prediction nonsense.

Sorry, but based on this year's evidence (I never saw Herrera at Bilbao,) I don't think Herrera has done anything to show he should be starting ahead of Fellaini (whose insertion into the lineup more or less coincided with the start of our best run of the season.) Herrera may well be the better player (his reputation prior to coming here would certainly suggest so,) but I have yet to see it, and one can't help but wonder if Van Gaal feels the same way.
He has done just as much as Fellaini has, whether you see it or not is irrelevant.

In reality I don't think either get into our best 11 with everyone fit. Blind, Carrick and Di Maria would be my 3 personally.
Fair enough, but saying one has been much better than the other is just not true. Both have been pretty even with their performances.

How is Herrera 2nd in the MoTM voting? He was so dire in the 1st half, and everyone grew into the game once we scored and Yeovil started to tire. I think Smalling and McNair were a little above the rest in terms of performance..

That was awful but better in the second half. Mata brought that class that moved us away from looking like a League 2 side.

I'd say both have had equal affect in terms of results. The issue being that Herrera is a far more technically gifted with bigger potential. Can see where you're both coming from to be fair.

I think Fletcher shaped up a bit from the 65th minute and on. It's also a common fact that you drop a couple of levels when you play against poor players. Many of our players don't play together very often either. Not much of an excuse but no excuses are needed - we're through.
This only confirms that Fletch was playing at conference level today...

Shaw and Rafa got injured. I don't know but LVG should take some of the blame on this weired stuff of injuries time and time again.

Thought both Blackett and McNair looked more comfortable at LB and RB in a flat back 4

IMHO I always liked Tyler more as a LB than CB

This 5-3-2 shite needs to go. Injuries or not. 4-3-3
And play who on the wings? LvG clearly thinks Januzaj is not up for it yet, sees Mata as a midfielder and Di Maria's best position in midfield as well, and I agree with him. I really want us to play 433 as well, but we are desperate for some wingers in order to play such a system.

If the club reacted to the "should never wear a utd shirt again" brigade on here, we'd be playing a 1-0-0-0-1 formation with De Gea and Di Maria.. & god help us if either got injured..

I think we should play for draws for the rest of the competition to add a second match as a replacement for the capital one cup

    So over dramatic!!
Why? I mean lets be honest. Darren Fletcher is beyond awful yet he started. He is Championship standard at best (hence why he struggled against the last placed League 1 club) and Anderson is overweight and out of contract in the summer. Despite this both players are apparently ahead of a highly talented 19 year old in Pereira (aka our next Pogba).

Never heard him called the next Pogba. I'd have rather seen him play than Fletcher, doesn't mean I think his career here is over.

I mean the next Pogba as in he leaves having not been given the chances he deserves and goes on to flourish elsewhere. I wasn't comparing him to Pogba as a player. When Pogba was left out of the team against Blackburn with Rafael and Park preferred in midfield he said he knew his days were numbered then. This could be similar for Pereira. It can't be great for a promising midfielder like himself to see a player who is miles past it (Fletcher) get in the starting XI ahead of him. As if that wasn't bad enough Anderson was bizarrely named on the bench despite the fact he is clearly on his way out of the club. Really poor from LVG. Between him and Januzaj his handling of young players, despite his reputation, has been poor.

Manchester United dashed Yeovil's FA Cup dreams but Louis van Gaal's star-studded squad left a parting gift

Manchester United may have left Yeovil’s FA Cup dream in tatters but the Premier League club still had time bring some cheer to Gary Johnson’s squad after the clash at Huish Park.

The Glovers boss made it clear to his players that there were to be strictly no selfies before his side’s 2-0 defeat to Louis van Gaal’s men but that wasn’t going to stop the League One players grabbing the shirts of their top-flight counterparts at the final whistle.

Yeovil skipper Joe Edwards, who is a lifelong United fan, was one of the lucky ones as he grabbed United captain Wayne Rooney’s shirt but some of his colleagues were not quite as lucky.

“A few of the boys didn’t manage to get their shirts after the game,” the Yeovil captain said. “But a few of the lads saw them in the tunnel and they asked one of the lads, who brought out all the actual shirts into the dressing room.

“Like I said they were a brilliant bunch of lads and from world class footballers to fellow professionals that’s what you’d expect but it was brilliant to see.”

Edwards, whose side are currently bottom of Sky Bet League One, was full of praise for Yeovil’s focus as goals from Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria booked United’s place in the fourth round.

And he also reserved special mention for the visitors attitude towards their trip to Somerset.

“We were fully professional and focused on the game beforehand,” he added.

“We knew we had to do a job and we didn’t want to be embarrassed or anything like that. We gave everything we had but just came up short.

“They are world class players and you can see the difference. But they were real nice guys. They all had time for us after the game and even during the game there was no nastiness going on.

“As a fan it’s brilliant for me to see top players can still be humble and appreciative."

I feel ya, I don't like it either. But Pogba had the greediest agent in the world and a huge ego, so hopefully it's not to late for Periera.

Fingers crossed. I'm a huge fan of his. Still haven't gotten over the loss of Pogba so don't want a repeat.
