We need to get 6 points from the young boys games. So start with our best eleven and sub players off if it goes well.

    DDG
    AWB Varane Maguire Shaw
    Fred Porga
    Greenwood Bruno Sancho
    Ronaldo

Im sure that one or two would be rotated though.

Hopefully we can give some minutes to Donny, Martial, Dalot, Telles etc..

I'm sure there is a visiting team in each of those games.
I don't deny the advantage it brings YB in terms of playing and tactics, but it isn't an injury issue at all. Otherwise, it would've been banned a long time ago.
I did find a study in USA that say that the risk of injuries are 16% higher when they play American fotball (not counting tackle injuries).
Some swedish studies say that its better for some injuries and worse for others. Its just as dangerous to train and play all time in on kind of turf and then change to something els for some time... change ones shouldn't be a problem.
The turfs 10 years ago is not comparable to the new ones, the new ones is very good and a lot better than the old ones....
Reading the articles made me believe there's not as big injury risk that I thought.

Interesting thing was that 90% of the players asked what they preferred said real is better, and they said it was a higher injury risk with astroturf. Psykologia is an interesting thing.

Let's hope we can handle the turf and play some good football.

Hoping for a fairly strong team for this match. Can't afford a repeat of last season where naming a youthful under strengthed side against Basalsehir was ultimately the reason why we went out.

No complacency, don't go in under estimating the opposition. Expect it to be a tough game and be professional and get the job done. This was the exact type of game we slipped up on last season.

I hope we make 2-3 changes as players like VdB, Dalot, Martial need games to build up their match sharpness to ensure they are better prepared when called upon. It's a long season and we have a big squad.
so you’ll accept this as a reason for dropping points by Ole if he rotates them in?

I think Ole will go with:

    ................... De Gea

    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Shaw

    ............. Pogba - Fred

    Sancho - Fernandes - Lingard

    ............... Ronaldo

    When we are 3-0 up:
    Pogba > Donny
    Fernandes > Mata
    Ronaldo > Martial

    Later on:
Shaw > Bissaka (Dalot moved to the left)
    Maguire > Lindelöf

Apart from a Win if I could ask from anything else it would be for Sancho to score to get his confidence up a notch.

If Ole was concerned about resting players at this point in the season, he wouldn't have arranged behind-closed-doors friendlies against Stoke and Burnley!

It'll be our first choice XI:

    Ronaldo
    Sancho--Bruno--Greenwood
    Matic--Pogba
    Shaw--Maguire--Varane--AWB
    DDG

The only possible changes will be for Ronaldo (due to his age) and DDG (if Henderson is deemed fit enough).

Obviously know precious little about these guys but you have to presume they are the group's whipping boys - and we should whip them. Anything but three points and we can forget going deep into the competition - and I'm pretty sure we will indeed win although no idea of the scoreline

I think that team does damage , alternatively if you drop Pogba deeper and put Sancho on left and Greenwood to the right so same as newcastle it would work, I really hope Donny gets a start tonight.

It's a tricky one to predict as I can also see Lindelof, Martial, Lingard all come into the starting 11 tonight , i hope not but i can see Ole doing it.

just some shocking stuff and they are absolutely taking the piss with the name Wankdorf....you know someone was having a good laugh coming up with that
I'm never quite sure whether English native speakers are serious with posts like this. There are some who seem genuinely unaware that a lot of people don't speak English.

Henderson hasn't travelled and I hope the first part of your post is a joke.

I really think lingard and Sancho would play well together. Be interesting to see them both play. Could go pogba left and a donny/Fred pivot

I'd play the same team as the weekend. Maybe bring Donny in, but I see no reason to rest players this early in the season and potentially end up with an embarrassing result.

I dont know that scares me. Should go full strength in my opinion which means Lingard on the bench. Anything can go wrong in the first game of the group stage.

Whew. Almost missed that this is an early kickoff.
Same, my old man txt me to remind me, I would have definitely missed this otherwise. Would have been fuming.

Should have some sort of reminder flash up for an early evening kick off like this. I reckon loads of people can miss an early one like tonight's.

That’s a really good idea; maybe include it in the thread title if it’s an early kickoff.

dont really understand all the folks who think we need to rotate and rest. We need to get off to a good start and tonights game is not easy by any stretch

Win tonight and then we have 2 home games. Qualify and then rest players for the last 1 or 2 group games, not the other way around
    This.

I'd love to see VdB come in but suspect him, Martial and Lingard will come on again as subs.

I'd really like to see a clean sheet and see us control the game aside from just winning, this standard of team should be there for us keep the ball and just let them run themselves ragged.

What’s the point of having a big and strong squad if you don’t use it? Both players and Manager should be taking responsibility if we don’t win tonight if we were to make a few changes against the mighty Young Boys

Are they the only team in the competition that have an artificial surface? Seems mad that UEFA allow it but it is what it is I suppose. Just hope none of players pick up an injury.

Nothing other than 3 points tonight is acceptable. Don’t care how we do it, winning the game is all that matters.

Only change I can see him making is Fred for Matic tbh, kill off the game early with a strong team and 5 subs means Martial/Lingard/Dalot/VdB can get some substantial minutes.

This, with Lindelöf for Maguire og Varane.

Same as last match except Fred for Matic.
The only other remotely possible change we could see would be Pogba playing on the left over Sancho and Donny starting with Fred but I don't think Ole will do that.

Should really be absolutely reaming these.

I expect 2 or 3 up at half time and another couple coming in the second half to finish the job.
