Great boxing day match at OT, nice to get 3 points, and some great individual performances but I'm not letting this team off the hook so easily. They've fooled me time and time again and proved that a bad performance is just around the corner. Happy for Rasmus though.
That result won't fool anyone but it will postpone sacking the manager which I'm all for. Sacking the manager would give the owners a free ride for another two years and would postpone "the big reset" which will come eventually. Also, hard not to enjoy three points won with the first match...
Once we have new owners and structure and they want to do it - I would support that decision. With the current regime - no, as I doubt any that kind of change would make a difference. Changes must start from the top.
When you want to sign Kim Min-Jae but end up with Evans, I'm finding really difficult to think that EtH is the problem. Yes - he's no Fergie regen or anything but still - the common factor in our downward spiral has been the board, and the owners. EtH at least managed to win us a cup and took us...
It was close until Evans & Maguire came on. However, Arsenal was really poor considering how they played last season which does not say much about us. We're still incredibly poor attacking-wise. I really hope that Rasmus can come in and offer us something. It'll be a long season.
I admit I would have liked to see that sum of cash spent on a more critical position (DM, ST, DC), however - our 1st team is paper thin and he definitely adds options. So he is still a welcome addition.
There's no point of us entering the Champions League with that team. Need 2-3 transfer windows (provided that EtH gets his targets) to be competing on top level. I do think that Erik is the right manager but the team needs to be reshaped by his transfer targets.
Nobody needs to get sacked for this but losing to your arch rival 0:7 is really hard one to take. Also disappointed to see that such result is still in us somewhere. I thought that banter days are behind us. We've done such a great progress this season and this result should have never happen. I...
Looked slower and more static than I was expecting. He is a big fella but did not seem to be incredibly effective in the air. I guess he's just a body in the field until the end of the season..
Don't want to see him anywhere near the squad and would rather we had kept Bailley instead. Maguire is slow, very prone to mistakes, visibly lacks the ability to read/scan the game. I think we have seen enough of him to know that he is not up to this level and never has been.
Feel quite indifferent. I'm much more invested into the league and with the way we have been playing in the last few days, I'm finally again looking forward to our games. Also, it's just weird having this tournament just before winter. Will probably still watch few matches but it's just not the...
Agreed. If the current season of crap is the price we must pay for the club to have a proper restart and start a proper rebuild, I am more than happy to accept it. And I will always be thankful to Rangnick for starting this.
Agreed with everything. I am secretly hoping that the necessary sh'tstorm that Rangnick has caused will lead to the reset/rebuild that this club urgently needs. My biggest fear is that Rangnick will be shown the door after the season ends or will be put away somewhere where he won't have the...
This. I think the fact that he has had no support from the board is often overlooked. The very least the board could have done was to bring in a DM (we need one anyway) and we might be seeing much different results (specially against weaker teams where we've lost terrible amount of points this...
