Yes all the F-14s are CGI, all the enemy planes are CGI, test plane once off the ground is all CGI. I probably enjoyed the movie more when I thought there were fewer effects, so perhaps like a magic trick I should be happy. I mean finding out didn't change my enjoyment, it was way later.
