  1. Rasmus Højlund | Manchester United Player | Shirt Nr 11

    Ten Hag looking stylish here.
  2. Television RedCafe's Favourite TV Shows (Round 2)

Haven't seen many of these so will rank the ones I have seen: Group 1: 1) Dark 2) South Park Group 2: 1) Chernobyl 2) Better Call Saul
  3. What do we still need? Aka The never ending story

Think the Away Team would struggle here. Playing 10 men might be alright with Old Trafford as the 11th man, but playing 10 men away would be suicidal.
  4. Raphaël Varane | 2022/23 Performances

Does anyone have a video of this clip?
  5. Would you sell Jadon Sancho this summer? And do you think he will be sold?

I agree, I don't think it makes sense to sell because we won't get that much money and then we lose a player. Hopefully he can kick on next season and come close to proving his worth, otherwise I suspect he will be sold the following Summer.
  6. Would you sell Jadon Sancho this summer? And do you think he will be sold?

Sancho's transfer fee has been reported as £73m and his contract length is 5 years. So after two years 2/5ths of the transfer fee (£29m ) will have been amortised, and the remaining 3/5ths (£44m) will be his net book value. Therefore, if we sell him for less than £44m it will be recorded in the...
  7. Would you sell Jadon Sancho this summer? And do you think he will be sold?

The (financial) reason we won't sell him is because no other team would pay him close to the astronomical wage he is reportedly on. It's not to do with FFP. It seems people are getting confused about the negative FFP implications of selling him because they're only considering his transfer fee...
  8. Jadon Sancho | 2022/23 Performances

By my calculations, his net book value at the end of this season will be £44m. If we sell him for less than that, then the difference will count as a loss on the sale of asset, and will negatively affect profit and FFP. Assuming we sell him after 30th June, this loss would go into the 23-24...
  9. 15 mins of added time across two halves in Liverpool vs Villa (With referee playing on for additional 4)

Economics degree mate. :) Managed to convince my professor that this came under “behavioural economics”. To be fair, I found a book on this stuff in the economics library.
  10. 15 mins of added time across two halves in Liverpool vs Villa (With referee playing on for additional 4)

I researched this for my dissertation and various studies have shown that officials favour home teams in regards to the amount of injury time added on. And the more pressure the home crowd is able to exert on the officials, the more pronounced this home bias is. The sooner football moves to a...
  11. VAR and Refs | General Discussion | Forest go into meltdown

If the ball is on the floor and there’s an equivalent challenge on Wan Bissaka , that’s a penalty. Yet no penalty when it’s on his head despite being more dangerous .
  12. West Ham United vs Manchester United

Should be a penalty for the headbutt on wan bissaka. Not even a VAR check
  13. Strange refereeing quirks…

If there's a blatant yellow card offence like a cynical shirt-pull on a counter attack, but the referee plays advantage, the referee will 99% of the time forget to go back and book the player. Only exception is if the advantage is played but then the play subsequently stops within 5 seconds...
  14. Craig Pawson

Agree with everyone else that Pawson was poor (pun intended) today. I was only able to watch the game from around the 65th minute onwards and I counted 4 clear yellow cards that Brighton should have been given but weren't. One of which (Mitoma) was should have been a second yellow. Plus the...
