I don't think we need more refs. Even in the NFL they get things wrong a lot. I feel the problem with football refs is that:
1) They're too protected
2) They seem to have their own agendas
3) They get to hide behind 'clear and obvious'
However...
Yeah, the clubs are definitely going to be taking it seriously. It is essentially another CL injection of cash in the year they qualify.
As for the concept, I don't mind the idea if it allows the South American teams to get in a bit more cash...
I can see Soton winning out as well. However, I think if they do that they will get promoted. If not, just imagine supporting a team with 96 points and not get promoted :houllier:
Ipswich have got a bit lucky imo with having been due to play Coventry at the weekend and getting a two week break. That way, not only do they get some rest, but by the time they KO next Hull and Coventry may have nothing to play for. On top of...
Yeah, I do not think the 9 pens is that odd, it is his conversion rate that is odd. However, what is telling with him is that he seems to stay so collected when scoring them. I have seen him take ones against City, Utd and Everton last night...
I feel this is going to be the case with Chelsea. Big fine, maybe a small points deduction but an explanation that they were still within the PSR rules even with the dodgy payments - while some payments are outside of PSR timelines.
This seems...
The problem with the Chelsea breaches is that most of the reported ones happened before the PL put in place PSR which came in for the 2013-14 season. Obviously there still appear to be a few but the bigger ticket ones that have been raised where...
Not sure why someone is getting criterism for being an expert penalty taker. Being someone who scores 9.5/10 of your pens means you will automatically be a pen taker for any team in the world. On top of this, you save a lot of stress/disharmony...
Exactly this. However, mob rule is the way today. If it were up to most people, City would be relegated to the local pub league and Pep would've been behind bars getting bummed every night by the prison posse as soon as the charges dropped.
As...
VAR would simply be fixed if they had to play the communication between the officials in the ground/live on TV.
I personally do not think the refs side with any teams, however I do believe they're influenced by media narrative/the crowd...
Ideally, I would like to see Ipswich and Soton come up, simply because I have a weird soft spot for them from my years as a kid in the early PL years collecting their stickers.
As for the playoffs, I reckon if I do get my wish, Leicester will...
