It honestly makes no sense to even buy him. City is flying right now, and adding Sanchez to the mix potentially stunts the growth of Sane/Sterling/Jesus and basically puts a bullet into the head of Bernardo.

It tends to be the case. When the money is right and players want to go, deals tend to pretty smoothly. When players kick up a fit it's usually because their club finds it tough to find a suitable replacement, don't want to sell to a direct rival, or the money isn't right.

Ridiculous. Teams invest in players and shouldn't entertain the idea of selling them off for cheap just because they don't think their contract is worth the paper it's written on. If it works out that the club can benefit financially AND improve the squad with other options, then sure. Often...

And? He's really the only purchase that hasn't worked out for the long term. Heinze is the only other one I can think of. Jones can be argued given that he was "the next England captain" and never filled that potential, but he's had over a century of appearances for the club at this point.
