  1. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

My friend had a similar issue. He manager to get a zoom call kind of appointment. Was in absolute agony with an ear ‘infection’ and both ears blocked. Anyway, he went to a professional ear cleaner and they cleared out both of his ears with some microsuction machine. Back to normal the day after...

My brother tested positive for Covid 19 a few days after going to university and was showing symptoms. It has been just over a week and my parents are insisting on bringing him back tomorrow from Leicester to a house which contains me, my wife, my four month old and both my parents in their mid...

Thread ban. Alot of people come here for balanced arguments and useful information. Please don’t pollute the thread with this nonsense.

Maybe a silly question or already answered but, what percentage of the UK population would need to take the vaccine (if we get one), for it to be deemed effective? In the sense of herd immunity(very unlikely), easing strain on the NHS, allowing us back into pre Covid conditions etc.

Those death figures are wrong. It’s 27 not 9 according to the Gov Uk Coronavirus site unless I’m missing something? Death rate looks like it is already rising sadly.
  6. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Hospital admissions on the rise. Patients on ventilators on the rise. I’ve been monitoring the Gov Uk website for the past month or so and at a glance I’d say the above have gone up 10%, though I could be wrong. It is very worrying though if we are using this as an indicator of where we are...

I also received a text from the NHS regarding flu jab. I haven’t done much research into it but I’m 31 and a moderate smoker, is it a good idea for me to get a flub jab?
  8. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Appreciate this but as some other posters have already mentioned before, how many of these deaths actually occur. Although every death is tragic, how many freak deaths are there? With less cars on the motorway (I think), surely less road traffic accidents/fatalities. Then on the other hand...

Wow, shocking and scary. I’m guessing the ONS statistics/deaths above yearly average is the better indicator then on a weekly/monthly basis?
  10. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Apologies in advance, might be stupid question but with the mortality showing 28 days within positive test, if someone were to pass away from Covid after 35 days and on death certificate it said Covid-19, would this be counted in the daily stats?
  11. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Haven’t been able to find that information on the government website. I thought they had temporarily paused the number of deaths because of the inaccuracies? Case numbers seem like they have spiked considerably.
  12. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Ah ok! Thanks for clarifying. I missed the part about health problem in the question, so it makes alot more sense now.
  13. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Apologies if this has already been covered in the thread so far but I haven’t been able to find anything on it. I was reading an article the other day (can’t find source but will post a different source at the end), and it said that for all the Covid-19 deaths in England and Wales, around two...

No official numbers today on the Department of Health and Social Care Twitter page. Is there any reason for this or just a delay? @redshaw
