Amazingly we hit 357 to their 264 accurate passes. We also had 53% of the possession, but still conceded 85 to 16 touches in the opposition penalty area. Sideways and backward passing obviously doesn't get you anywhere.

As much as I loved yesterday's result, getting one over on the dippers always feels good. But a large part of me is hacked off. WHY can't we put that effort in every week, instead of the strolling around the pitch not putting in the challenges.

It's the simple passes that are going astray the most. This is basic football that gets taught at school, let alone a player on £150,000 plus a week.

We never scored from open play, so the counter attack argument is weak.

There is boring possession and there is no possession. We are in the no possession bracket.
  • Or rather the lack of it. We give away possession so much and often so cheaply Which consequently puts us under pressure, leaving us to play most of the game in defensive mode. And let's be honest, we don't have the best defensive set up.
