I agree. Which is why we needed a player in the Mainoo mould, in that profile, not an AM like Mount. As for the playing both Bruno and Mount idea, yeah we have already seen that doesnt work. If Bruno was Modric/KdB/Odegaard it could have worked, but its Bruno so its not gonna work.

Not in great shape no, but we have to prioritise since we dont have unlimited money. We made the same mistake last season when we bought an AM when we needed CMs, and didnt get more defenders and instead went for GK(which was probably lower in the priority order).

Shaw has injury problems sure, Malacia was very competent replacement when we got him last season, many were praising him. Nobody knows how's he gonna recover from the injury though, so that makes the Fernandez transfer even more weirder. But Shaw is much much better than Dalot/AWB, and if Shaw...

He cannot do what Mainoo does, nor can he do what Casemiro does. Which is why he made absolutely zero fecking sense to buy in the summer to anyone who understands football. But we keep buying AMs and either dont play them or play them in the wrong positions, so its extremely on brand for us.

Our priority should be CB, RB, midfield and attack, so yeah it makes complete sense that United would target a LB first. Its the United way.

Thuram is a good shout for Mainoo competion. Would be cheap too. Still need a DM though to compete with Casemiro. Maybe Onana?

Centre Back Right Back Defensive Mid Centre Mid Versatile Forward Sell : AWB(20M), Lindelof(10M), McTominay(40M), Eriksen, Sancho(30M), Martial, Greenwood(25M). These are the five profiles I would target. We could easily get 5 players in and have a net spend around 100-125M.

He's the same size as Martinez and Nketiah/Jesus. Not the biggest lad, but if he can strengthen up a bit more, he will handle PL fine no issues. He's got the skill.

Last season we needed a CF, centreback, couple of midfielders, GK and a fullback(probably in that order). We had a 200M budget. We just got the GK(debatable upgrade) and the CF(young talent). We blew the rest of the money on an attacking midfielder which we didnt need to replace another played...
