Worse than 74 in some ways. Then there was some optimism that a new exciting team was being created and a big clear out of dead wood was happening. Now it's just a hopeless mess
Of the rest of the managers, my favourite was Tommy Doc.. He had to make a lot of tough decisions to clear out the remnants of the 68 team who had hung around too long, plus a few iffy signings immediately after that win, and create a new exciting team which played great football.
Saw him play once, at Bury, he went to Bradford City at some point, late 90s, and that's when I saw him. Good player but I think he fell foul of Fergie somehow
It was better, yes, but against a very poor team. The goals were good, especially Martials, the penalty misses were a disappointment but, then again, neither should have been given in the first place.
