Inexperienced in terms of never having played in the FA Youth Cup before. Most teams are a mix of first, second and third years. These were nearly all first years in terms of first year in the U/18's.
All the creative ball players from yesteryear would have a field day in the modern game.
The pacy defenders would adapt fine.
The hard men (attackers and defenders)...ponderous players...less skilled players wouldn't stand a chance.
McQueen would get found out positionally and give away way too many free kicks in the modern game. His positioning was atrocious back in the 1970's so modern players would pull him all over the place.
Houston was slightly more cultured but...
This is terrible news...I never really rated him as a defender, particularly tactically nor his man marking skills. Great in the air and bombing forward though.
