  1. Portuguese Football 2019/20

Seferovic was good last year, but he's been atrocious this year. Nobody understands why the coach keeps him on the starting 11.
  2. Renato Sanches | Performances

Bayern and Kovac are at fault here. He had a tremendous potential but left Benfica too soon. I really hope Renato gets this transfer done and gets back these 3 years of his career that Bayern wasted. I would not be surprised to see him back in the spotlight in a big european club in a few years.
  3. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

That's quite possible since that's a Mendes related club. Jorge Mendes is already in charge of BF's transfer negotiations.
  4. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

I get what you're saying, but it is so unfortunate that people keep bringing up João Félix comparisons with Bruno Fernandes. I mean João Félix at 19 is on a career path to possibly become a top3 player in the world. He's on another level. You can just see João Félix has it. It's so unfair to...
  5. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

João Félix is a 19 year old that took the league by storm and is already being talked about as a potential top3 player in the world somewhere down the line. Come on... it's nonsense to compare their price tags at this time. And that's exactly the problem here: JF's price tag messed with...
  6. Get rid of VAR NOW! We want our game back! (...or not, some are happy)

Since forever, we've always known that accidental hand touches are not fouls. This new handball rule changed that to avoid ambiguity, but in my opinion that is not a good enough reason to change something so fundamental about football as "accidental touches with the hand are not fouls". It's not...
  7. Get rid of VAR NOW! We want our game back! (...or not, some are happy)

The only reason it has come to this (VAR) is precisely because refs fail so many critical calls. We have the technology to get it right. We don't need to sacrifice fairness in the game because of the "human error".
  8. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

I am pretty sure he would not have scored 28 goals last season if he was a starter for Benfica, because he would have to share shots a lot more. Maybe he would have more assists though. If he had scored 28 goals for Benfica (league champions) or Porto (good CL run) he would be worth more, no...
  9. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

Jimenez now has an EPL season under his belt and he proved he was worth what Wolves paid for him. They're pretty happy with him, with his production and what they paid for. 17 goals for a recently promoted team in the EPL is very good. I do agree that he was not worth that much at the time he...
  10. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

That's the real issue here. Sporting (and Sporting's supporters) would have been more than happy to sell Bruno Fernandes for the right price: 30-40M€. It would have been one of their biggest sales ever. However, as soon as Benfica announced that Atletico had made an offer of 126M€ for João...
  11. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

He does take a lot of risks. Doesn't help that players around him are really not that good. Sporting's current ball and player movement is not great. In essence, Bruno has to create the vast majority of goal scoring opportunities. I believe his high # of pass fails is largely connected to that...
  12. Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

Is Bruno overrated? I guess it depends how you look at it. For a 70 million euros asking price, he's obviously overrated. He's not worth that much. For 40 million euros in 2019's market, he's righty rated. He's a pretty good player, for sure a top5 player in Portugal in the past 2 seasons...
  13. Joao Felix

What an awesome start for João Félix at AM! We all knew he would be a world-class striker, but being only 19 it's actually a little surprising to be having so much success this early. Lets hope he stays healthy and keeps producing when the real games begin.
  14. Get rid of VAR NOW! We want our game back! (...or not, some are happy)

VAR is awesome. Yes, it kills a bit of the celebrations, but keeping the score as fair as possible is the most important thing.
