Good point. We should hire both then, and then add Pep to the team as well once his contract expires. City would be left with Rodgers who would proceed to rebuild their team with beautiful human beings of high character and never win anything again.
  2. Let's praise the club for doing something we want for a change... thread?

I think we know who really saved the club then;)
  3. Will Ole get another PL job after this?

He’ll be back with us before we know it. “Manchester United are determined to learn from their past mistakes after the failure of Mauricio Pochettino to win them either the Premier League or Champions League, despite investments totalling nearly £500 million over two years under the...
  4. The main criterion: Coaching a team to the level of Klopp and Pep

    What about Chelsea though?:smirk:

It’s good to see Murtough’s name being prominently mentioned instead of just Woodward Judge and Arnold (or SAF). It’ll be a test for him so let’s hope he knows what he’s doing and that he’ll be allowed to make the necessary decisions. Though it seems a little odd that he’s gunning for Rangnick...

Yeah calling Poch average wouldn’t be right, but it’s not unreasonable to be sceptical that he's really in that top tier of coaches alongside the likes that are currently at our rivals. Of course whether Ten Hag or anyone else are is another question.

I think it’s more down to general performances than results. Like with Ole, you could tell pretty early on that he wasn’t likely to go very far despite the results being decent. Whereas with someone like Klopp or Pep you could see the potential quickly even if the immediate results weren’t quite...
  8. Michael Carrick | 2021/22 Interim-Interim Manager Performances

I think the best we can hope for is for our newfangled football structure to make a proper decision this time, as we don’t have insight as to what exactly the dynamics of the coaching staff are. I’d be more inclined for McKenna to stay and actually learn the ropes from more experienced coaches...

While there’s a risk that people are making the same mistake as they had done with Tuchel, we should also consider the fact that we have PSG fans here telling us that Tuchel did much better there than Poch has. I don’t think it’s necessarily a set agenda. And of course there are some who just...
  10. Ernesto Valverde

Thanks for the insight. Would you say the same constraints apply to us as well? And any idea if he could play an expansive style if he had the players needed?

Only Fonseca has been spanked by Ole’s United though:smirk:

Not familiar with him but apparently he agreed to take over Spurs before their DoF rejected him in favour of Nuno. Spurs fans weren’t thrilled either way I think. Let’s hope it’s one of the other four if he’s that bad.
  13. Ernesto Valverde

I only did some cursory reading on him but yeah I did see the main criticisms being his lack of style and over reliance on Messi and Ter Stegen. If true my expectation would be to see our football continue to look drab and individualistic, but more competent than we have seen under Ole. That...
