  1. No.1 for next season - De Gea or Henderson?

My personal feel is that Henderson may be the better long-term fit for the club stylistically, but this is by no means set in stone. De Gea has been working on coming off his line a bit more and he's obviously put a lot of work into getting back towards his best. Henderson is much more of a...
  2. Our 2nd best midfielder

I think you'll find yourself in a minority if your position is that Gerrard and Lampard were not midfielders.
  3. Our 2nd best midfielder

OP said midfielder, not central midfielder. Attacking and defensive midfielders would also count, I would think.
  4. Amad Diallo | 2020/21 Performances

I think for some players it's a matter of style and the limits of their physical capabilities. At his age, Amad may need his legs to be relatively fresh to do all the close control and tricks he likes, and to think at his best. Running at his absolute top speed a lot would be a good way to burn...
  5. Mason Greenwood | 2020/21 Performances

Greenwood has crisp skills on the ball, is physically slight and bad at headers, doesn't seem suited to hold up play and has an amazing shot in him from either foot. I suppose it depends on what demands you place on an out and out striker. Greenwood will never be a target man like RVN. But he...
  6. Our 2nd best midfielder

Bruno is considered Manchester United's best midfielder not because his top level is beyond Pogba's, but because he has proven that consistently valuable in his overall contributions and importance to the club. Under that standard, Fred is no. 2. Fred's energy and consistent output of tackles...
  7. Why the heck #OLEOUT is trending again?

That'd be fair. Champions League football is a major source of revenue and a great attractor of top level talent. Ole getting sacked last season for finishing outside the top 4 wouldn't necessarily have been unreasonable either, so even more so this season.
  8. Mason Greenwood | 2020/21 Performances

Greenwood had one really, really deadly way to score dribbling in from the right corner of the penalty box, fooling the defender with a feint and shooting with massive power and precision. It was obviously a routine he'd worked on a lot in training and he scored several goals in a row like that...
  9. Why the heck #OLEOUT is trending again?

The sheer sustained bile of so many people here. In or out, reasonable people can disagree on whether Ole is the long term man for the job. You'd think Ole inners are defending him when we're 10th in the league the way the hardened outer sound. We have seen a lot to be happy about of late. Some...
  10. What has been Man Utd’s best ever outgoing transfer?

Ronaldo wanted to go and he'd served the club well, even staying on longer than he initially intended thanks to Fergie. It hurt long term to lose one of the best players in the world to Real Madrid, but Ronaldo was going to go and holding onto him would only have risked resentment and a collapse...
  11. Ole Gunnar Solskjær | 2020/21 Discussion

I'm of the opinion Ole will do enough to coach Manchester United successfully for years to come. If you are of the opinion that he has done a lot to get Manchester United healthy and thriving again, but doubt he has what it takes to take us to the absolute top, then here's a question for you...
  12. Ole Gunnar Solskjær | 2020/21 Discussion

Yes and no. It's the biggest win any team has recorded , but plenty of teams have run up the score this season. Tottenham did it to us 1-6. Liverpool won 7-0. The 9-0 is great for our goals scored statistic for sure but we wouldn't be in dire straits. Make it a 4-0 win instead of 9-0 and we'd...
  13. Lingard to join West Ham on loan

In addition to what everyone else said, Juan Mata's contract runs out in the summer. There's no point loaning out someone of his experience and quality for 6 months just to lose him entirely. Better to keep him around the younger players and let them see how what a consummate professional who...
  14. Ole's clear-out

A defender capable of going toe to toe with Mbappe on his day is deadwood at Manchester United. That's how elite our club is. ;)
  15. Ole's clear-out

It should be remembered that Solksjaer hasn't only gotten rid of the obvious ones who for some reason other top managers didn't see fit to get rid of over the last 7 years. Felliani wasn't going to work out long term but getting rid of him from Day 1 was a ballsy move. Same with Lukaku.
