  1. Post match vs Southampton

Bad luck. We didn't play great but were good value for the win. It happens. We'll smash Palace.
  2. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness or memes please)

Direct sunlight would be an interesting study at large scale given that temperature alone hasn't been proven to have a significant effect on transmission (AFAIK).
  3. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness or memes please)

The Melbourne situation has kind of shocked me back to reality / feeling of anxiousness similar to April. In NSW we're comfortable for now, but I don't think the conditions are much different in that it could've been either state that relapsed. Demonstrates a level of complacency. I'm...
  4. Manchester United vs Bournemouth

Anyone remember the Sheffield United 3-3 equaliser where it hit the bloke in exactly the same place? No handball...
  5. Thinking the unthinkable : Winning the League next season - It's alright, we're on

Not until we work on set pieces. Liverpool have been optimising things like this for a few years now. It may not look obvious in one game but across the season it's worth a significant number of points. Football analytics is reaching a level where you need more than good players and good...
  6. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness or memes please)

It's extremely frustrating how the government can lie so poorly about the contact tracing app and the development process. Mainly because they'll get away with it for the most part despite the utter incompetence of their decision-making.
  7. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness or memes please)

This does look interesting, hopefully other states can be looked into. The data since the "2-weeks after" line has suspiciously high r^2 value (to a straight-line fit). Randomness can look like that sometimes, but it does cast doubt on the significance.
  8. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness or memes please)

I think that's the first time since March that the reported UK deaths have increased from a Monday to a Tuesday. It doesn't mean much on it's own, but interesting to see what happens in the next few days.
  9. SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness or memes please)

Yep, track and trace systems are only useful if their scale is in-line with the number of infections. Like much of the UK governments response, the system is just window dressing for now and will be woefully inadequate w.r.t. the thousands of infections still occuring and slow testing...
  10. Westminster Politics

Aye this is a worrying thought. We know the journalists approached Cummings/Johnson a few weeks back for comment about this issue. Even if Cummings had a subconscious motive to adjust the advice for his own benefit, isn't that enough to be a serious issue?
  11. Westminster Politics

I'm don't understand why the government sanctioned this. The Conservatives and Johnson have strong support whether some of us like that or not. Cumming's doesn't. For some reason the party is allowing him to harm their image, to whatever degree. Is there more than meets the eye?
  12. Westminster Politics

It's like they're trying to reframe it on his mistake being that he didn't ask Boris' permission. Which seems irrelevant from my POV.
  13. Westminster Politics

I encourage other posters not to waste their time with this.
  14. Westminster Politics

Literally wasn't self-isolating with the virus and symptoms of the virus. I think most people will see that, no matter how it's spun.
  15. Westminster Politics

What a cnut. Nothing else to say really. I understand his original actions on a human level, but not this narrative.
