Nani

watched the game again...Nani was so frustrating for large portions of the game. I advise all to take a second look...he worked hard, but it just wasn't happening for him that day

Bar Valencia, the only player who looked like creating anything - annoying as hell and a lot of bad decisions but at least he attempts things - too many players happy at ease playing it simple and taking it 'easy'. If course, teams need a variety but it's good (sort of) that we have at least some player who will at least attempt the difficult runs/shots etc.

nonsense. no one took it easy. they did their best considering most of them played out of position. If someone, it was Nani who was careless. Berba, Anderson and Valencia did the 'difficult runs/shots'. I'd say in spite of Nani

Thought I'd highlight this for the truth.

We saw something new from Nani today. In the first half he was coming inside and actually playing a more playmaking role than he normally does. He'd come into the centre, look to draw players to him and then slip a ball out to a winger/wingback so that they could then make the final pass. The very opposite of being selfish. However, sometimes it might've looked like he was being selfish as he'd take up that role and then find that nobody was actually moving into a position to receive the ball, so he'd just twist and turn in the centre so he could hold onto the ball until someone did get in position.

He was quite poor in the second half though. His final ball was nowhere to be seen and he even lost the ball regularly when he tried to dribble. I must say I got the feeling midway through the second half that he was quite tired. There were a few balls he was slow getting to, and some of his general movement didn't have his normal nippiness. He's played a lot of games recently I think, and it might be starting to have an effect.

Nani will be back. Today just wasn't a good game for him. Noticed he usually plays well when Rooney is in the side. They seem to feed off each other in some way.
