Reality check time lads.....

I have looked thorogh many posts on here and they range from jubiliation in selling Veron and Becks to downright misery.

Time for a bit of balance - we have 9 months to go in an extremely long season and you don't win the title in August/September ask a scouser

So lets look at this as a new United team get behind the players as we only know how and stop bickering about our football club.

There is only one United and don't forget that.

There is only one United and we would get behind the team no matter what happens.

Yet as a Manchester United supporter, I feel that all of us have the right to voice their concerns towards the team we all love. After all, it’s the common supporter who is responsible for the generation of this enormous money machine called Manchester United (merchandizing, shares, club tickets etc) and it’s the common supporter who struggles through the thick and thin (sometimes beyond his economical means) to express his loyalty to his team. Remember that a club can live without their board of directors, their manager and their chairman but can never survive without the help of their supporters,

Personally I am a bit disappointed of how things had gone by. Kenyon had promised us a lot but had delivered very little, and in matter of fact, those “exciting” times had turned into a nightmare. But that doesn’t mean that we wont get behind our team. Although in pain, we will insure that the red flag will always fly up to the sky (as we always did)

That is the spirit.

I say stop bickering you doomers and gloomers and get supporting the team, whatever happens this will be a season to remember.

The young united players, Fletcher, Richardson, Bellion and add Djemba2 and Howard to that list all need a good run in the first team. I also think we have a good blend of experienced veterans and youth, add to that there is still at least 3 weeks to go in the transfer market.

I say do not give up on the team even if at the start of this season we get a few bad results it will come good.

See you and keep the faith

Amen to that brother :) I have to say I'm quite excited about the changes. It's a shame to see Veron go, but whatever ! These things happen, and if United win the League and discover that Bellion, Kleberson and Djemba Djemba are outstanding players in the process, it will be all the more satisfying come May; rather than merely winning year in year out with the same old faces. Not to sound ungrateful, but I think it will be an interesting season

Maybe I dont flag my loyalty at the same way other ppl do. But altough I will ALWAYS voice my concerns, at the end of the day I will always get behind our team, no matter what will happen.

I've yet to see you get behind the team

Criticising everyone, from the players to the manager and the board, is not getting behind the team

Fully understand your sentiments! :)

In fact I'll go further & tell those defensive blind faith followers who abuse & mock those with independent thinking - we're loyal to the club & not individuals as no-one's indispensible, including Fergie, Kenyon or other individuals!

In fact these blind faith followers seem to be more loyal to the management & Fergie than the club & should be chastised! ;)

That is exactly the comments I was talking about.
Is it constructive? No.

Maybe

But is it true? Yes

There are a number of posters who never do anything but complain, moan and criticises the club. Never anything positive.

Is that getting behind the team?

This Seba business is quite interesting re independent thinking. All those who maintained he was a great buy, and supported their argument by constantly bawling "Don't you trust SAF then??!!" - I assume now that SAF's sold him you agree we were right to do so? Or maybe you've learnt to base your claims on facts, not a blind trust in SAF's choices - cos the downside of doing that is that when the man changes his mind, your arguments suddenly become by their own logic false...

Completely read my mind!!!. I had fought, suffered and cried for my club and I had always did what was needed to do for the team that I HAD loved since birth.

I am a Manchester United supporter who had been there through the thick and the thin and have all the scars to show it. I am proud of my team and no Norwegian idiot have the right to question mine or others loyalty to the cause.

Long Life to Manchester United

and remember

Showing that you worry about the club, is not a weakness but a clear sign that you really love the club.

After all you only worry for those whom you love.

I,ve got an idea. Devilish why don,t you invite Boring on holiday to Malta, he could stay with you & you could argue your differences out ad nauseum over a 2 week period or else kick the crap out of each other & settle it that way. At least it might spare the rest of us from you infernal bickering...You never know you may end up liking each other & move in together ;)

Why have you never got anything positive to say about the club you have loved since the day you were born [sic]?

I agree with you. SAF is a great manager but certainly he is not God

During my coaching coarse in Italy, one of my tuitors came and asked me to describe a successful manager. I told him, someone who wins several trophies etc, but my tuitor said that I was wrong because you can be with a small team who can never win anything and yet still be successful (for example if you manage to keep a small team with limited resources in the English Premiership, you should be considered as successful)

So I asked him “then how do you describe a successful manager”

And he said

“A successful manager is someone who can individuate his mistakes and manages to solve them” and that is exactly what SAF did during all this years of success

I agree we have to stay positive and trust in the leadership at Old Trafford. Players come and go and Fergie has shown us in the past he is a shrewd and successful judge on football matters. We have a good squad of players we can all be proud of and a season of great football to look forward to.

Well put.

Just a week ago, Fergie said Veron won't go & he'll start next season with United, espousing the player's qualities.

Blind faith supporters : " Fergie is right & has the last say - Veron is staying, is a great player & don't anyone dare question Fergie!"

2 days later, Fergie suddenly becomes non-commital - BFS : " Er, Fergie is still right - don't anyone question Fergie! !"

Veron is then sold to Chelsea within a week of Fergie insisting Veron would stay, saying he was expandable in a crowded midfield.

BFS : "Veron was expandable & didn't prove himself - Fergie was right to sell him & don't anyone dare question Fergie !"

They are not supporters. They are "worshippers". I bet that if Fergie picks up a black shirt and then say it is white, some people here will say "Trust your manager! He said it for the good of the club!" or "if Fergie think the black is indeed white then it's already good enough for me". ;)

It's still not so long ago that talking about selling Veron was a sin. No one know about it better than Livvie. :p

Well, caffiete morons have never known what the word "reality" means anyway so having endless arguments with them is a sheer waste of time.

Bottom line is we are short of defensive and striker cover and that is the issue which should be of concern to all fans.
