If we don't win on Sunday I think we should just ditch the league.

Lyon are 13 points behind CL places. They'll be resting players.

Schalke are 12 point behind CL spots. They'll be resting players too.

Besiktas are top but I think they'll go out to Lyon.

Celta are no way catching the Spanish top 4 so they'll be doing the same as the rest.

So all 3 teams that could hurt us will be wanting to win this competition as it will give them a major European trophy and the only realistic route to CL. They'll also have the added benefit of resting players and concentrating solely on the competition. I think we should do the same.
We wouldn't meet any of them till May. By then we should have a clear picture of where we are finishing in the league and if top 4 is dead we can just ditch it then

Anderlecht are in a tight title race and will not be resting anyone in the league so shouldn't have any advantage there

Yeah I guess we can make that decision in May, you're right.

"Klopp, meanwhile, has formed an unlikely alliance with Jose Mourinho in suggesting more should be done to assist English clubs in Europe.

“I heard what Jose Mourinho said and what the pundits think about it,” said Klopp.

“Last season we had the same experience. It was really hard. We played Villarreal and then Swansea at 12 noon. If you want to help you should not do that. I know it is contracted, but 12 noon or 4pm? Don’t play then. Don’t make it more difficult than it should be. We thought the same. We thought it was really hard. That was an experience. This year we could not use it but next year we can use it.” "

Even L'pool manager can see sense. IDK wtf was wrong with Keano & opponent fan who used Keano's comment to spin things regarding the schedule

It is a real inconvenience, no doubt. But it's not like it has come out of the blue. It's not a new scenario, he should have prepared for that. The fact is that for commercial reasons, the FA will not bend for anyone and should not if we are going to be unbiased. Any club that is in the EL will face this problem. If you buy oranges, be ready to deal with the seeds.
many rescheduled fixtures had come out of the blue tbf.

And the second part might be true for English club but not every European clubs which is the point of the moaning.
Do I agree that he should moan at every opportunities? No, but he has a point.

It's how the world works. People are always driven by agenda, not intelligence. That's why many people still think Trump is a saint.

Did he really say we will lose on Sunday to Middlesbrough?

That's just lame as fek. Can't he just do his job without constantly complaining and whining?

If Moyes or LVG said this there'd be pitchforks and torches in front of their homes.

He's complaining about tight schedule, but he wanted to win every trophie.

He's whining about players being tired, yet he rarely ever utilised squad, he played first team to the ground.

I don't remember it that way and anyway we had some good games in the group stages. All I'm saying it's not that all of our games were bad in Europa.
Tbh the only game we were that good was against Fenerbahce at Old Trafford. You can argue that the Fayenoord home game was good too (we won 4:0) but we gave too many chances to them and we were lucky they didn't score any.

There isn't. Even if there is they don't listen or just deal with it the same way UEFA told us to deal with Rostov's pitch which later shut down for improvement by Russian federation.

Below is what SAF had to say, even though he had the benefit of playing in CL instead of EL.

"How many times have I complained about it? You've heard my complaints. Do they listen?"

He never stopped complaining about the schedule. The link above is his last season before CL game vs Real Madrid.

Last time SAF had EL, he purposely played half baked team to get eliminated so he could focus on challenging league title.

The point is let call a spade as a spade. English FA has always put in English clubs in hot water regarding schedule for European competition. When shtf they decided to blame club for not producing enough quality for the national team & put more stupid regulation on the clubs. The truth is with so much pressure for clubs, the English players would become more of squad quality than key players if FA doesn't want to help. A vicious cycle FA created for themselves.

He played his strongest possible team in a game which might be our best route to CL football next season. Shocking, right?

Mourinho doesn't rotate as much as some managers but having a core handful of players who feature in every game is standard. Fergie did it all the time. Ronaldo averaged 50+ appearances in each of his last 5 seasons with United. Pogba has only made 4 more appearances this season than De Bruyne, Sterling or Kolarov (presumably all in the league cup).
How many of the same posters moaning about lack of rotation would have moaned if he rotated and we got knocked out of the EL.

Loads and rightly so. We should be able to rest Pogba and at least get 0-0 with Rostov.

His newspaper interviews are revealing and discursive. His TV stuff is unappealing, like watching Graeme Souness getting a massage with release.
