I have seen a few players get loaned out and come back better for the first team experience but I always worry about what they get taught in training and whether standards are upheld at smaller clubs

We spend millions on building the AON complex and some of the best coaches in world football to staff it. We also want the young lads to play the "Utd way" which is sometimes difficult when on loan to a lower league club

That is why I think an U23 Championship side would be ideal. I don't see how it takes away from the global appeal of the league tbh....Barnsley vs MK Dons or Leeds vs Utd U23s?

Unfortunately it just isn't going to happen. I hope we decide to start participating in the efl trophy to at least get a few games at a senior level. And even more so I hope the talk of us buying a club in Europe is true and we use that.

if he's going to be the leftback with Valencia on the right, signing someone like Dier to drop in and make the defence a 3 to neutralise their absence while attacking would be essential. Would also offer a genuine possibility of a 3-5-2, having two mobile outlets on either side.

It was a good performance for what it was, but it's impossible to draw any realistic conclusions from a match like that. It was barely Premier League standard. The lad needs a loan.

He's much faster than CBJ though. It's a big advantage for that position

We should keep him round the club. I wouldn't loan typically our best players out. We cannot trust clubs and we know what happens when they fail. Even if CBJs experience at Wolves wasn't good - what he does for United would be more important. Mitchell ISN'T a full back but in terms of the way he plays, he's got great ability we've not had since Rafael left. I think these kids are better training with our first team. They will not be treated as kids in training and that's a big test for them anyway. The pressure to always want to impress the manager.

Bit random. He's nothing like Buttner. He's a skilful type of player thats found himself at full back. Offensively, he could contribute a fair bit.

Buttner looked fairly impressive going forward in his first games at Man utd who was a threat on the left side. We can't guarantee anything.
