Seriously @Summit, Griezmann was NEVER ever in a million years Mourinho's choice to lead the line. This transfer started once Zlatan got injured, and put Griezmann on the back burner, it's as obvious as it gets in football. The target man is the most important player in Mourinho's team, and that's why Griezmann will have to wait.
I was more thinking of cost, but whatever floats your boat.

Jose may have gone for a cheaper option like Hernadez. He even said at a time when we were supposedly getting Griezmann that he would have never have sold Hernadez. Just a thought, not need to act an arse tbh. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what I meant really.

It's 08:25 in LA now. My guess is 17:00 BST, 09:00 LA time.

I've based that on absolutely nothing, other than it being fairly soon. :nervous:

It's getting a bit annoying now, hopefully we will announce this today so we can focus on our other targets.

Put your house on Rooney scoring the match winner against us next season.

It's inevitable.
But with that logic, Lukaku should score the winner against them too.
So 1-1 draw then!

Do you think we would have got this fella had we got Griezmann?
Given that they are totally different players, one would assume that we wanted both. Which means that we are either signing someone else also or we are waiting until next season for Griez.

Yeah that's my point. We may have gone for a cheaper option in the striker department had we dropped 100m on Griez

Again proof that this was no hijack signing, the fact that Koeman was questioning us back in April/May, shows how long we've at this transfer.

Actually, neither goal would be a winner in that case.

So accord to Random Task's logic, it'd be United 1-0 Everton and Everton 1-0 United or something, 3 points each and us unhappy :(

Yep they have a programme almost every day called Inside the Tour. They will often show the team training on it. It was cancelled yesterday and replaced with a Farewell to Rooney phone in.
Thanks. :) It would be rather stupid if they showed him training and yet he's not announced yet.

Don't think so, the money is there and we can afford 2 big signings even without selling. Additionally, Zlatan and Rooney are no longer in the club and that is almost a million per week off the books.

On top of that, Jose has a specific requirement for a central forward and those players are not easy to find so we were always looking at a bigger fee for our ST

I think we were going to buy big (and we still might). Our next signing will tell us more about the players that will leave but I reckon we will gather at least 40 mil from selling

Last season Lukaku had 38 opportunities to score against Everton and he miserably failed, so...

No.. Lukaku 1, Martial 1, Rashford 1, Mata 1 and Mikhi 1

We absolutely destroy them

Is the club going to announce this anytime? Or are we just going to assume the player is already with us and move on and just suddenly see him in the lads' back at training thread?

Yeah but what do I know. I'm still bitter over my harsh ban from the other day, needless to say said bitterness is showing in my posts :p

Yeah obviously, was just pointing out his logic was flawed.
1-0 win at home and same loss away, is better than 1-1 in both matches, so let's do that.
Or feck this curse of football, and win both legs.

We still need another striker. It's going to be difficult to accommodate Rashford, Lukaku and Morata because only one of them would start in the striker position. And Morata would be another expensive acquisition if he had to warm the bench which brings me to the question, if not Morata, could we consider the Dembele guy from Celtic. He seems to have goals in him and wouldn't be too expensive. What does the CAF think about Dembele being consider when Lukaku is out injured or is being rested?

He won't join us to play second fiddle to Lukaku I'm afraid. He is a quality player though.

Yeah but £75m and £70m strikers maybe.

You know we signed Cole and Yorke for big money and rotated them with Sheringham and Solskjaer right?
We will not spend £70m on a back up striker, this makes zero sense, again.

Cole and Yorke were first choice in a formation which required two strikers. While expensive at the time, they were not THAT expensive even if you consider inflation, and on top of that they BOTH player while neither Sheringham nor Solskjaer were record transfers or demanding to be playing every week - one was a supersub, the other was an ageing forward who wanted to win something.

Having two forwards, both near world record transfers, playing 50% - 60% of games is ridiculous, and there is still Rashford who must get minutes.

I think we'll wait for Zlatan to return and be the third option. The club official Twitter and Facebook didn't say any goodbye to him till now and that what makes me believe he's not gonna leave.

Jose is his Last title winning season got Costa, Remy and Drogba. Next season we may have Lukaku, Rashford and Zlatan. Looks similar.

Don't we train at 6pm UK time?

If so, I'd like to the think the official confirmation will be in the next hour.
