On first watch I thought he took a kick to the side but the way he laid on the ground looked perhaps he was knocked out They were very concerned with not moving his neck as the stretcher came and he was recieving oxygen but did seem to be sitting up before being put on the stretcher .

Hopefully they were over cautious with his previous injuries and it isn't as serious as it looked

Out in the third round again. Poor.

Our team always seems to have good talents at this level but lacks balance.

I'm gutted with Chong's injury, lets hope it was more of a precaution and he is back as soon as possible. Am I the only one who is very underwhelmed with McKenna's work here?

Second season running we are out of the Youth Cup very early and generally I'm disappointed how we've played, especially our defense. He was a highly rated coach when he came in but the results haven't followed with a very talented group of players.

Watched the u18s quite a bit this season and am very underwhelmed.Barlow,Greenwood and Chong look decent but the rest average.

Signing far to many kids from abroad and not even getting the best kids in Manchester/Salford and the North West .

Disappointing result but not the end of the world, there's plenty of talent in that squad and I wouldn't be surprised if a couple broke in to the first team squad in a few years time.

It must be great for these lads to see the like of Rashford, Lingard, Pogba, McTominay, Tuanzebe & Fosu-Mensah all get their chance in the first team. There's no better big club in the country for developing and giving younger players a chance.

Its only my opinion but i have watched the 18s plenty and i have been all around the country watching my lad play against these level of teams when he was in an Academy.

City hoovered up quite a lot of the best talent about unfortunately but you only need to take a look at the u18 squad online to see where they are from and you will realise there isnt many from the north west pal.

That's all well and good, but we have quite a few from the north west in the current u18s. I'm no mathematician, but I would say that a decent % come from the north west. Anyways, what's the problem if we get players from abroad, if they're better options than what we already have or what was available to us? Isn't about having the best players? I also asked the initial question as below the u18s, there are numerous "local talent" that I would think City are itching to get their hands on.

Agree with this. Just looking at where players were born online isn't the best way of doing things since there are a lot of lads who have lived in or near Manchester all their lives and have only ever played for United but weren't necessarily born there.

We have very good players, but McKenna can't get the right balance. I don't know if he doesen't care or if he can't get it right but the team can't defend. It's not that big of a problem though because it's all about development, as long as players are developing it's okey imo. Frustrating to lose but if you look at Derbys team, they have no Chong, he was at another level yesterday.
