Stoke were hard to break down at first, especially when they put 10 behind the ball, but as soon as they tired United went up a gear. That second goal before half-time was killer.

Puigmal on for the last 6 minutes. Very disappointed with how little he seems to feature.

Once again he was away with Spain during the week and scored against Italy. Being away every 2/3 weeks for games or training camps really isn't helping him get a run of games for us

Thank you sir. Hopefully next season he will establish himself. Looks to have great talent. Likewise Traore.

Yeah and it's a promising sign that even when he comes on he's having a decent impact as he did again today. Here's his goal if you haven't seen it

Cheers. He looks a real talent but there’s a part of me that is holding back full excitement over a player who is a sub. I don’t think he’s inferior to Levitt, but it seems he is second choice, and they are the same age right? Garner is the more defensive option so I don’t see them in competition.

I think a lot of it is just him getting used to the pace and physicality of English football and a very different system than he played previously, from what I've seen of him he looks at his best in a midfield 3 but we don't tend to play that way so he has been used out wide quite a bit so far just to help him get used to the pace of the game. I'd like to see him playing as a proper cm because I think he'd have the ability to beat the press that most teams try to play against us but with Garner, Galbraith, Traore and Levitt all needing games in cm playing from the wings as Barlow has done quite a bit might be his best chance of getting game time at the moment.

Levitt complements Garner better. Puigmal is a bit of a free roaming player at this stage. Same reason why Galbraith isn't used more, Levitt is just a more typical player for the number 8 role. All of them are capable players so I can see we play some out of positions next season, something like midfield 4 of Garner, Levitt, Traore and Puigmal/Galbraith with Greenwood and Mellor up top.

Anyway we're top of the group for now. Very tight Top 4.

Cheers for this.

As for Mellor, I haven’t seen loads from him, but he doesn’t look up to the level from what I’ve seen. Do you have hope for him?

He's decent. Very versatile, can fill a lot of roles and he can score goals so certainly useful. The U16s group coming up are full of defenders and midfielders so he's likely will be first choice number 9 unless we sign someone else.
