There were other things on which he could have been criticized, this one I think he shouldn't be, and that's the end for me.
Ohhhh. So I'm not allowed to point out that he was losing his man for the first goal?

If he was indeed marking Clark as I think, he didn't lose him, he realized the ball is coming low and put himself in front of Clark. That is contradicting with what you are saying cause Clark wasn't going to get to the ball in any way. He never got close to Diame, that's why I think it was absurd to say he lost him, he never even started marking him.
What? Stop talking nonsense pal. He was clearly never got close to Clark! Mensah was watching Diame but he was losing him. Look!

The one who man mark Clark was Kelly. How is Mensah marking Clark if he was behind him? Mensah clearly unaware where both Clark & Diame were. Look he's marking no one! The ball went to Milivojevic's place.

Unbeliavable. You are posting a picture in which TFM looks in the direction of Diame and Clark, and Kelly has his hand on Diame, and you decide Kelly was marking Clark(who is behind Diame) and TFM is marking Diame because he looked at Diame and Clark. OK than you were right.
Now stop wasting my time, we are going in circles, it's tiresome and let's put an end to it.

So now you are telling me Kelly man mark both Diame & Clark because Kelly has his hand on Diame and Clark was nowhere near with Mensah. Did you even watch Mensah's face reaction after the goal? he felt guilty after the goal because he knew he should have stay tight with Diame.

Alright let's not going circle again about who did these players mark.

But the point is Mensah marked no one here! He was nowhere near both Diame & Clark! When you mark the player you have to stay tight, you can't let them behind your back or lose a sight of him. Clearly the moment Kenedy hit the ball, Mensah already unaware where both Diame & Clark were, in other word he was losing his man! The man marking & concentration were poor which need to be addressed.

Sounds like a young player then?
The sliding lunges are something I am surprised haven't already been coached out of him, but sure, he's young and developing, very raw still, I could definitely see him having another season out on loan next year.

I am pretty sure he can get his defending right over time but not sure how good he can be attacking wise. Physically strong RB running up and down the right flank is good to have but adding a good cross I think is essential or maybe a different kind of contribution. Evra wasn't the best corosser but was decent dribbler and knew exactly when to make the run so he was a menace, I hope TFM will pick up a thing or two going forward

I think TFM is better going forward than seems to be the consensus. He doesn't panic and hoof the ball up very often and often looks to play forward either to the wide attacker ahead of him or more centrally to a midfield player. I also think he makes some incisive overlapping runs when in possession to get into dangerous areas.

Hopefully next season he can deputize for Valencia and show he's of the required quality to take over the position from him rather than us having to look to spunk a load of cash on an RB.

Agree. If Jose is not going to change anything in attack, he is going to need width from somewhere though, and he might need full backs that bomb forward and deliver crosses for Lukaku.

What's his crossing been like, anyone know?

He had a good cross yesterday that Zaha absolutely should have scored on. I've also seen him put in some decent crosses at United, specifically in LvG's 2nd season. He's not anything special in that sense but he seems more able to whip it in to danger areas than Valencia has shown the last few years.

Every time I've seen him this season he's impressed me. It's not an easy task to play in that defence by any means, but he's got pace and power, having this experience of playing all the time will do great things for his positional awareness.

I hope he's back here next season as Tony's deputy. Central defence is interesting with 5 centre backs on the books + Tuanzebe. I think that's where we'll see the biggest shake up.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

He actually seems quite effective when he does decide to go forward. The problem is that he didn't really seem to be comfortably knowing when to go forward and when to stay back, so he tended to just play it safe and normally stayed back or played the ball back. I'm not sure if that's because he's played most of his youth football in central areas, if it's because of LVG's training for the previous couple of years, or if it's just his natural mentality.

That was the case with us anyway. Other than a couple of matches early in the season I haven't been watching him for Palace, so hopefully he's improved his offensive play while with them. I know there was one match where they were raving over him and I believe he got MOM, but I'm not sure if that was a one-off or not.

Well he was educated at the Ajax youth academy, think he was there from a very early age, maybe 7-8 years, so he should be well versed in attacking as a team. He probably did play most games as a midfielder back then. Could he be that defensive midfield option for us? I think he's better of just nailing down a position and it's not bad having a very physically gifted player at right back for the next seasons.

Playing centre back today. Normally playing right back ahead of Ward & now playing centre back ahead of Delaney & Riedewald.

And some would argue it's RB which is the issue IMO. Dutch John O'Shea. He's a good footballer, hopefully he makes it at United.
Agreed think this can be a issue with a lot of younger players, not having a defined position. Tuanzebe is similar, played at RB, DM and CB.

The Manchester United player picked by Leroy Sane as his toughest opponent
Manchester City player Leroy Sane has named a Man Utd defender as his toughest opponent in the Premier League
https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...otball-news/man-utd-news-fosu-mensah-14364129

Leroy Sane believes Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is one of the toughest opponents he has ever faced.
And Crystal Palace's right-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah, I have played against him twice this season, and even last season, he had me really well under control and I told him how happy I was to play against him.

Doesn't look like a modern Manchester United player to me. Lacks that most primordial skill: the ability to raise his hand and complain to the ref while the ball is still in play.

Well Bissaka was Palaces best player against us, wouldn’t expect them to drop him after his performance in that game.
And TFM is a loanee meaning moving forward, they wouldn't be able to rely on him next season.

Aye, he put in another impressive display against Chelsea too. Really weird as he seems to have come out of nowhere. England should call him up to the U21s

Unlucky to be screwed over a bit by the can't play against parent club rule. Forced Wan Bissaka to be played who has come out of nowhere and looked great. Still been a good loan for me and I want him getting minutes here next season.

The loan has been a reasonable one so far and a injury can change everything in a moment too.

If Wan Bissaka can keep up this level then we should be looking at him.

I was in favour of TMF coming back in today as I thought he'd be that touch more physical but AWB was superb again. He reminds me a lot of Clyne when he was coming through from our academy, so hopefully we have another gem on our hands.

I do think with his emergence and Ward on the way back TFM's best chance of a game will be at centre back if Tomkins/Sakho/Kelly get injured. Just nice to have some options after all our injuries to be honest.
