ChrisNelson writeup

Had to have a bit of a re-jig this time around to avoid having 3 West Indians in the XI so much as I'd have wanted Carl Hooper at 6 and bowling his allocation, Chris Gayle is going to have to bowl his 10 overs along with the bottom 4.

Harshad writeup

Team Harshad

1. M. Greatbatch - The protagonist of pinch-hitting openers. Don't believe me? Read this.
2. M. Waugh - One of the GOAT openers
3. M. Amarnath - Can bat. Can bowl. Not the most flamboyant of cricketers but underestimate Jimmy at your own peril. MOM in the 83 Final
4. B.C. Lara - One of the GOATs
5. A.Ranatunga - Captain Marvel
6. Inzi - The party pooper as far as NZ are concerned. MOM in the 1992 semi-final
7. W. Akram - One of the GOATs. MOM in the 92 Final
8. L. Klusener - Remember '99 World Cup. But for a brain fade, it would have been known as the Klusener Cup
9. S. Pollock - Old war horse.
10. I. Smith (WK) - Has a strike rate of over 100.
11. S.Warne - GOAT. Of the 2 SF and 2 Finals he played he was the MOM in 3 of them

Why I would win - My team is full of players who have a history of performing in clutch situations and winning matches.

Chris Gayle's bowling stats

Wickets 31 - Average 30.7 - Econ 4.71 - 5W 0

Compared to Lance Klusener

Wickets 28 - Average 28.54 - Econ 4.69

So am I really a bowler short, as my 5th choice bowler seems to be at least equal to Harshad's first change bowler? Yes Smith is batting out of position but someone had to - and as someone with so much experience at the top level I'm pretty sure he could adapt and steady the ship in the unlikely event that my top 4 haven't already put the match beyond the opposition.

How many matches have they both played?
Well, Gayle has played twice as many as Klusener, according to the write-ups. But their bowling stats are identical so I would say they cancel each other out, neither of them are exactly wicket machines.

Akram ahead of Klusener? Why?
Lara should be at 3 too. Harshads fifth bowling options are super weak. Including Ranatunga as a bowling option is clutching at straws. Given Klusener himself at times won’t bowl all 10 overs, the line up is weak. Still overall he has the stronger team
