Some talk about Courtois leaving on a free to Real next summer. Hopefully Navas puts on another superhuman performance in the final so that Dave survives the summer.
If that happens bar Courtois being disastrous for them that should mean De Gea at Man Utd for as long as we want him

A Navas blooper in the final might be a double whammy for us- Liverpool win the CL and Real will want to replace him with Dave.
So hopefully Navas has a very good game.

That would have the added bonus of pissing Liverpool fans off. Not sure why RMC/Bouhafsi would know about a deal featuring a Brazilian going from an Italian club to a Spanish one.

The only reason I could see is that is because PSG were also going for him.

I wouldn’t get too excited. It means De Gea won’t leave next season for sure.

But Allisson might be a stop gap till they do get him. They’d probably end up selling Navas in a few years.

These feckers will never go away.

Allison is not a stop gap signing.

Yes, De Gea going to Real in 2028 might be a heartbreaking affair.

On what planet would it be a stop gap signing?

This is Real Madrid we are talking about. You know the club that replaces players for no reason at times.

We all thought in 2009 that Ronaldo would stay. But then out the blue the clubs agree a fee.

If we are not successful in the next few years then the harsh reality is that Dave will most likely push to leave and I wouldn’t blame him.

Signing Allison isn’t going to change that. If they think Dave wants to leave in the next few years then they will sign him and discard one of Allison or Navas easily.

It’s all good getting giddy that Madrid might sign another goalkeeper. But the reality is that Daves future is in our hands. If the club isn’t successful, why should Dave stick around? He’s not a Manchester lad. He doesn’t owe anything to the club.

Alisson is excellent and would likely solve their goalkeeper issues for the next decade or so.

That being said, I'm sure it hasn't escaped people's attention that Real are contesting a final with Liverpool in a few weeks time, and suddenly they're being heavily linked to Liverpool's best player and also linked to one of their primary transfer targets for the summer...

They been wanting to replace a goalkeeper who has played a key part in two of their champions league victories for years. They’d have no issues discarding Allison if they get a sniff that Dave wants out. Afterall they’d still be getting a upgrade.

Yes, have you missed the saves he has made in the last 2 seasons?

Granted this season he hasn’t been as good. But it’s delusional to think he hasn’t played a key part in their success over the last few seasons.

Liverpool to get Butland? Be available for a reasonable fee and could improve a lot over the next few seasons.
Hope not we already have a keeper with supposed "potential" don't need 2. We need a solid number 1.

Real won't spend big on a goalkeeper I've become convinced of that now, so no De Gea, no Alisson and no Donnarumma. I suspect they're holding out for Courtois on a free

Alisson is a better goalkeeper than De Gea. Great choice Real!

My concern is that Real are placing these rumours to force DDG's hand.

"Join or we'll buy Allison."

I hope he's sufficiently happy here to stay! Our only consistent and world class player over the past few seasons.

Navas is a damn good goalkeeper and I don't think there are more than 3 keepers better than him. Not sure why Real are sniffing everyone else.

Alisson's looked fantastic from the little I've seen and it seems like the vast majority of regular viewers think the same. He'll also likely cost half of what De Gea would.

I think Navas is better than Alisson from what I've seen. But Alisson can get a lot better.

I would be insulted if I was DDG. They're not even in the same ballpark at the moment.

You are way off the mark. Spend big on Alisson, go back in a few years and spend big on De Gea? Nah, they spend big at times, but rarely on goalkeepers. Navas is a good kepper, istn top class though. Alisson will be in the top 5 goalkeepers soon, so no reason to go for De Gea anymore. Would be the same as if they went for Courtois. This pretty much means no De Gea to Real for a long while if at all.

This is Real Madrid. They’d always have a reason. They been wanting Navas out for years despite Zidane and the players wanting to keep him.

They can sign Alisson or Courtois. But De Gea is better than both. He’d always be a upgrade over them.

They haven’t needed to spend big on goalkeepers during the era of Perez because they had Casilas for the majority of it.

Butland is a solid keeper, if he changed his name to Butlandici would you be more interested? A solid keeper is 33% of the way to turning you Scouse cnuts into strong challengers to City next year.
