It speaks volumes that Rojo is linked with a 30m move to one of the European giants. The sooner we get him back fit, the better chance we have of progressing in the Champions League.
Fellaini was also linked with PSG tho and we both know he'd be totally out of place there. Also, the sources are garbage. Rojo has missed 71 games through injury since he joined us. He's TOTALLy unreliable like his brother from another mother Jones

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Not too relevant with thread but thought I should share this, the part about Mourinho is interesting.
"Alexis is a great player, but we didn't used to get on out on the pitch,” Rojo said while on international duty with Argentina.

"Every time we came up against one another, whether in internationals or when United played Arsenal, I would give him a good kicking - and he did the same to me.

"On top of that I used to insult him, and he would reply in kind.

"So when I learned that he was going to join United I said: 'Oh, f***ing hell, no, now this guy's going to be here.'

"We were in Dubai at the time Alexis' transfer went through.

"I was calmly sitting in a chair watching a film when Jose Mourinho came up and gave me a tap on the shoulder.

"He told me: 'We're going to sign Alexis. I don't want you smashing him up in training tomorrow.'

"He burst out laughing."

And I'm surprised he lived next to SAF. (source)
Rojo told AS: ''At Christmas, my whole family came to spend the holidays, it is not customary to throw fireworks, they all go to bed early, but I wanted to buy them for my family and I threw them after midnight.

''We played the next day and Ferguson always comes to see us when we played at Old Trafford, 'It was a nice lights show you did last night', he told me when I crossed him in a hallway.

''I wanted to die, I thought they were going to throw me out of the club, but luckily he took it well.''

For some reason I thought Rojo got sent off in the 2016 Copa America final for clattering into Sanchez, but actually it was Vidal instead.

Where is he recently BTW? Has he been shut down for the season, called it a write off, even after a new contract.

He's been on the bench for our last few league games (save for the Bournemouth win) and has been fit for about a month now. It seems Mourinho has lost faith in him or something. He signed a new contract on March 16 until 2021

With the contract thing, it's more like he's not at best condition for this campaign but surely still be in plan for following season.

I guess we'll just have to see. He's part of the sick note triumvirate (him, Jones and Bailly) so between injuries they'll definitely take turns partnering Smalling next season.

Back to the shite show he used to put under LVG. Terrible defender that had a purple patch last season.
He has had 3 decent months in 4 years at Utd. Baffles me that he has the fans that he does, must be the odd thunderous tackle, but he is so rash.

Looked like he hasn’t kicked a ball in 3 months let alone just not played. Horrible performance.

I didn't think he was that bad, he's not played for a while due to injury and got a solid 75 minutes under his belt.

I thought he did decent today. Some crisp forward passing and atleast couple of very good blocks

Not bad, but is far of from what he could perform pre injury. Not the level to start matches.

Unlucky with the attempted goal line clearance but didn't really do much else.

Made a couple of decent tackles in the second half, but it still baffles me the love that some have for him. 4 decent months in 4 years at Utd, never seen a lunging opportunity he does not like. The new contract was an odd choice given how little he has given Utd in these 4 years.

He's by far our worst defender with the ball in his feet. Smalling is Messi compared to him.

He hoofs almost under the slightest pressure.
Yeah, he does hoof a lot at times, but he's shown that he's capable of being a decent passer. I mean, he was Argentina's starting LB (useless for us there, admittedly) in the team that got to the finals of the 2014 WC. No way would someone as bad as Smalling on the ball have been a fullback in the national team.

This .. Yet the Caf slaughters Smalling every chance they get .. Luck bailed him out today .
Can't believe we gave him a new contract ..

Smalling isn't great with his feet but that's why I chose this comparison. At least Smalling passes the ball backwards or sideways because he doesn't know what to do with it so rather keeps possession. Rojo aimlessly hoofs the ball forward with no target which is more frustrating to watch for me, as it serves no purpose and makes us loses possession.

I see what you mean. Smalling does seems to be more aware of his limitations compared to Rojo, who has a knack for trying hollywood balls or shots. Fair enough.

I like Rojo as a central defender though he was off the pace when he returned from his cruciate injury.

I'll excuse him. He's coming back from a nasty injury and hasn't had many minutes.

Personally i hope we move on one of Jones/Smalling this summer. Promote Fosu Mensah to the first team and go forward with CB options of Bailly, Rojo, Lindelof, Fosu and the remaining jones/smalling. The season after we should move on the other jones/smalling and look to promote Tuanzebe after another loan move - hopefully one which allows him more minutes.

The only thing that Rojo has over Jones and Smalling is a left foot. He has been nearly as injury prone as Jones and has very few spells where he has looked up to the job. Bailly and Rojo had a decent run last year but they are far too rash as a pair.

Lol i enjoy the rashness.

He's also much better on the ball for me, delivers better crosses etc
