The way they're stockpiling young talent at every age group, this is only going to get worse.
Chelsea have been doing the same for much longer with their huge loan system.

Kind of feel transfers are heading in to a new era of buy-back clauses being standard and massive sell on percentages being inserted into young player's contracts. If you think about it, it's an impressive business model because you sell a player like Maffeo for £8m (already a solid fee) and you have 25% of any future fee in the bank. Unless he stays at his new club for his whole career, you're likely looking at at least another £5m (and likely much more if he develops well + transfers keep inflating). Pump out a few top young players from your academy each year, ship them out with big sell on percentages attached and you'll be laughing.

Chelsea had it wrong, they hoovered up talent and sent them on loan to develop them & sold those who they felt didn't cut it. I feel City will be open to selling their best young players who could potentially make it at the top level because it's a longer term investment & they can just go out and buy an established player who is 'plug and play'. Worst case scenario for them financially, Maffeo becomes a truly elite player and they want him back, they only have to pay 75% of his transfer fee if he hasn't moved.

I was just reading on the Sun 's website that it is being reported that Manchester United is ready to pay the release clause of 44 million pounds of Napoli's right back Elseid Hysaj . I know its the Sun and they are not reliable but I am curious about this player . Is there someone here who has any indepth info on this guy about how good he is because 44 million pounds is quite a lot . I have watched a couple of Napoli's matches but in bits and pieces mostly for Jorginho but didn't notice much of their ride side of midfield .

Yesterday at 0-0 with 15 mins to go he brought on Diaz and Foden... Foden is only 17 so I'm not concerned he's not getting loads of mins, how many 17 year olds did Jose play this season?
None. We don't have a 17 yr old ready.

In any case if you read the post you have quoted and the posts before that I have criticized him too for not playing Chong. So stop this whataboutism.

Because Pep is only thinking about himself and his CV. Jose gets shit for giving a youth player his managers award because it's an ego trip but Pep won't even put a youth player on the bench. Saint Pep can do no wrong obviously, and when he leaves he won't be harping on about the number of talents he's developed, he'll only be talking about record points totals and trophies.
Didn't Pep even field a bench with less players to make a point about him not having enough players?
