Agree.

If I were a Liverpool fan, I'd be crying out for Navas. A bit of a winner in the squad. If they sign Cillessen, one of the worst top flight GKs I've seen, that would be hilarious.
oh hypothetically who is the manager that likes Cillessen. Real Madrid are after a manager and Klopp fits the bill. Who told us he has an unbelievable offer ? Surely not him for Liverpool if Klopp leaves

To be competitive again, we really need to push the needle hard. We're talking Alderweireld, Alex Sandro, Verratti/Alcantara and Griezmann/Bale. We will NOT win or be competitive if we play Lukaku with just Lingard et al behind him for 30+ league games. It's just very easy to conclude where our season is going if we do not strengthen our team considerably before August.

Lingard won't be a starter because signing Fred means 433. What you are suggesting is transfer outlay north of 300m and I didn't even include Fred and Dalot in that number. Just bonkers to think a team could only strenghten with that sort of sums.

I bet the formation stays the same as it was unfortunately. Fred will just play instead of Herrera.

I know it won't happen . That plan got over last season when Mourinho tried it hence I wrote ambitious midfield which will get destroyed . The line up I wrote is a dream scenario because neither Pogba will ever play in 2 midfield nor Martial on the right wing . It will always be the 3 in midfield with Matic as our anchor .
Why would it be a dream scenario when we know that Pogba absolutely is incapable of playing in a 2? More like a nightmare!

It's bonkers for sure, but with a few sales we can end up at 250M perhaps? And as silly as it sounds, it's where it needs to be to compete. I think Fred will rotate with Matic and Herrera, last year we overplayed Matic and it really showed. If we start the season with Lingard/Mata on the right, some games with Rashford on the right, we will not challenge for the league - it's just how it is.

Griezmann should just sign a 5 year contract with a 500m release clause at Atletico and be done with it

In case needed any confirmation.
I still think Pogba will leave his career is stagnating and he looks as if he won't be in France's starting line up at the world cup, sure Jose might not want to sell him but he has always had an open door policy if a player asks to leave he lets them leave

Fred and Dalot look to be almost complete, both relatively young at 25 and 19 so in reality the spend so far is probably £45M and £20M respectively. Sky are the worst at over reporting transfer fees where United are concerned with Lukaku costing 90M when the deal was 75M plus bonus of 15M which may or may never happen.

What many fans fail to understand is that there are many other deals which increase our transfer budget, for example M Keane's transfer last year to Everton included a sell on clause which probably added 7.5M amortized to our budget. I have heard from a reliable source that we have have at least a 35% sell on clause with Zaha and many other deals, whether buy back options or sell on clauses with players like Januaji or Depay. Andreas Pereira loan deal was not free and again adds to the overall budget just as Zlatan and Feillani leaving the club will also free up valuable wages which can be added to the overall budget.

None of us really know what the Man United transfer budget is and probably nor do the board due to the current uncertainty with which players will leave! We all assume 150m plus player Sales but we just don't know and nor should we know or care because the squad needs 6 or 7 top players and has for the last 2 or 3 years! The club, board and Manager must simply go spend whatever it takes to put the club back in the European Elite.

So 2 down, 4 to go and I think most United Fans couldn't care less what we spend and who we get from the options below, but consider this would Jose really want Fred, Veratti and Pogba in a midfield 3 when the first two players are both 5'6........HIghly unlikely, Jose likes physically imposing players with a couple of flair players like Deco thrown in as he did with his great Chelsea team in 04 to 06.
I have included height, age and rumoured transfer fee in the most likely options which have been reported in the media.
Probably Done Deals
RWB
:
Diogo Dalot Age :19 Height: 6' 0 Transfer Fee - 20M
CDM:
Fred Age : 25 Height: 5'6 Transfer Fee - 45M

Transfer Options for other 4 positions
CB: Toby Auderweild Age : 29 Height: 6'2 Transfer Fee - 55M
CB:
Jerome Boatang Age : 29 Height: 6'4 Transfer Fee - 55M
CB:
Milan Skriniar Age : 23 Height: 6'2 Transfer Fee - 60M

LWB:
Alex Sandro Age: 26 Height: 6'0 Transfer Fee - 50M

LWB: Faouzi Ghoulam Age: 27 Height: 6'2 Transfer Fee - 40M
LWB:
Kieran Tierney
Age: 20 Height: 5'10 Transfer Fee - 30M

AMF:
Marco Veratti Age: 25 Height: 5'5 Transfer Fee - 70M
AMF:
Sergej Milinokovic Savic Age: 23 Height: 6'3 Transfer Fee - 90M
AMF:
Arturo Vidal Age: 31 Height: 5'11 Transfer Fee - 35M

RWS:
Gareth Bale Age: 29 Height: 6'1 Transfer Fee - 100M
RWS:
Antoine Griezmann Age: 27 Height: 5'9 Transfer Fee - 90M
RWS:
Douglas Costa Age: 27 Height: 5'7 Transfer Fee - 80M

Please consider that some of these targets may more likely be exactly what Morata was last year, a smokescreen to hide the real targets and whether we spend £200M or £350M, it doesn't really matter because the squad has needed a major overhaul for two seasons and I for one would not care who we buy from the above list and how much we spend, just as long as we sign the 6 players needed to improve the deficiencies of the team we watched last season!

I meant the whole attacking lineup without a defensive anchor in middle will be a dream scenario since it won't happen . Also Pogba in a 2 man midfield isn't a nightmare . He did well in a 2 man midfield at the start of last season . He railed off later after coming back from injury . He doesnt enjoy the defensive work but he is too hit and miss as number 10 in an attacking midfield . I think Carrick and Mourinho will work all pre season deciding where exactly Pobga fits in best . Hopefully Pogba shows more intent and discipline in the coming season to maximise his talent .

"The Red Devils, that won the race for the midfielder ahead of Manchester City, will make the €60 million deal official after the medicals and the signatures on the contract."

Who will be playing ahead of Pogba at the WC?
