That doesn't really mean anything, as Martial can still be sold to other clubs in Europe after Thursday. Utd don't want to sell to another PL club and the priority is to bring players in before the PL window closes.

My opinion, is shared by a large number of fans, who unlike you can see things for what they are and how Mourinho works. I’m not saying he’s wrong for not wanting Martial, I’m saying that, in my opinion, if it were totally up to him he’d swap him with Willian in a heartbeat.
Let's have a look at what Mourinho actually does with players he doesn't want .Remind me again what happened with Schweinsteiger?

Mourinho wants him out, the club don’t. That’s quite obvious.
He wanted him out so badly that he wanted him to start against Leicester.

If Mourinho wants a player out he completely takes him out of the team setup. Mkhitaryan, Rooney and Schweinsteiger all got that treatment. So did Blind and Schneiderlin.

Martial has played far too many minutes for that to be the case. All this talk about De Bruyne and Salah ignores that both those players could barely get a game under Mourinho.

If he didn't fancy Martial he would have been binned him a long time ago.

Too much common sense applied here.

You know if people stopped trying to add artificial validity to their own opinions then we wouldn't have half as many back and forth arguments

Obvious it is not unless you have inside information.

Can’t see him being allowed to go no matter what Raiola is up to, but then again anything is possible in football.

Spurs will try to low-ball us for him on deadline day, and I bet we're daft enough to accept.
Why would we accept without a replacement? Not like his contract is expiring next summer as there's the option of a further year in his contract. If he doesn't kick on, we'll sell next summer and bring in one or two attacking players then.

Where the grass is greener.
It would be a massive statement of negative intent if Pogba managed to live us this summer, there's not a chance we'll want to look that weak, and simply on our way down by letting him go.

It's quite strange to be honest. There is this belief that Martial has been ostracised and not given a fair shake, despite getting the minutes of a squad player.

Herrera has played less minutes than Martial, and was benched for Matic despite being our player of the season. Yet you will not find this ridiculous following for him that Martial has. It could be that Herrera doesn't have a mouthy agent, and he isn't a youtube highlights player, but a grafter with a bit of technical quality about him.

Haven’t posted in here for ages if at all but have been watching intently. Posting now in some attempt to jinx something into happening. Come on Woody, give us muppets something to get excited about! I’d take another Grant signing at this point just to see a new face in a shirt :nervous:

I doubt Barca need him or could afford him.
I get nervous seeing rumours about him because he’s got the potential to be a superstar for us, but every rumour so far seems to have come from a biased towards Barca news outlet and no one too reliable so I’m not that bothered at the minute. Can’t see him leaving anytime soon.

A very good point. No one believes Mourinho hates Herrera and is being forced to hold on to him by the club. Very peculiar.

Boateng would be Schweinsteiger 2.0. Mourinho would be signing the kind of player he'd force out of the club two years ago. How ironical -- Alanis Morissete should write a song about it.

Did jose not see Boateng in the CL and World cup this summer.

This would be the worst signing in the last 10 years.

No chance of it happening now as we can't replace him. Our final position in the league will drop 2 places from wherever we are currently favourites to finish without Pogba. Fred, Matic and Herrera/Fellaini is a terrible midfield.

Our board won't risk dropping out of CL spots.

Absolutely beautifully said. :D
I think it's also important to analyse the sources we accept as credible also. So much angst on occasions for so little.

It is also rather amusing that he identified them as good players and got them in but they were not good enough at the time to displace the talent he already had under him and winning things with. He did not even want them to go but you can't keep players indefinitely. Imagine binning your best players while they are winning just like that with no transition. The same melts would have stunk up the forums about that too.

There is no discourse to be had with feckwittery like that.
