Should have been 4-2. Laird sets up McCann who miskicks the ball from 8 yards out.

This time its Ramazani being set-up by Greenwood - but he curls it just wide of the post

3-3 Hockenhull lunges into a tackle - and defensively we have been awful and granted Derby 3 goals

Encouraging signs despite the defensive errors. Should have made it 4 before the pen as well.

It's a bit of the same as we saw last year - we give goals away and we are not clinical enough going forward. The good signs are that we play really good football.

Think we have to expect a lot of "stupid" goals against as we are trying to play with a lot of ambition in defence. Ít will pay off in the long run, but short term it will hurt us. But this is about development not results. Today though - the goals were results of individual mistakes rather than over-ambition.

At the same time - I feel there are some weak spots in our defence while a lot of key-players from last year now play for the U-21s so it would be normal to get a Little dip this season.

Surely Greenwood is just too good now for the Under-18s?!
I think he looks an even better prospect than Chong and Gomes.

To be fair we still have Mastny to come in in goals & Mengi, Bejger & Devine to come into the defence, I'd say our biggest weak point is the lack of strikers if/when Greenwood moves upto the u23s

Mason Greenwood: 2 goals, missed penalty, 3-4 great shots that were stopped by excellent saves. Still think he should play as a RWF, not as no9
That sounds good considering Lukaku should be a fixture as our 9 for at least 4-5 years.

After the season Greenwood had last season for the u18s, I really don't see a reason to keep him at that level. Better for him to get challenged despite his age. He's not small like Gomes either.

Maybe it's time for Greenwood to graduate from U18? U23 and occasional senior cup matches maybe?

Disagree. I think 2 of his biggest strengths are his finishing and how 2 footed he is which makes him ideal for modern no. 9. I would agree he may not be the best at holding up the ball as a traditional striker but then he is great as a modern striker.

He has looked even better than gomes and Chong.

Agreed that he is soon going to be with the U23s.
