Second time in Mourinho's tenure he's forced his way back in to the team, have to give him a run of games now, no two ways about it.

I love the hyperbole

Easily our worst attacking player, easily our best.

people are daft
Compared to the shite show surrounding him, he's yes our best attacking player. He's only one who can actually do something with the ball.

I was about to break the remote when I heard John Champion saying he is the one coming off. Thank feck it was Rashford instead.

He's very good with the ball and his decision making is usually spot on unlike Rashford.

Imagine what an actual attacking manager, preferably ex pro footballer would mold Martial into.

Deserves plaudits for tonight's performance. He really took it to the defense in the second half.

He's a world class talent, sad that he might never realise his potential

How decision making in this game was mostly shocking! Crossing at the wrong times, picking the wrong pass etc...

But then he had a good last 20 mins... Before that he was dire

His first half was pretty anonymous, though he was far from the worse player (that went to Matic and Rashford), but the last 30 minutes he improved as did the entire team. It's weird, but Rashford coming off for Sanchez seemed to change the dynamic even though Sanchez didn't do much at all outside of scoring the winning goal. Mata was fantastic as well.

I hope Mourinho can give him a run of games now that he's virtually saved his job.

It’s no coincidence that he looked like a superstar when the team started pressing forward. He will never look good in a defensive set up. He and Pogba are on a different wave length to the other players.

Left to Mourinho, he'd be in Chelsea and we'd have30-year-oldd Willian.

What a player. The way he kept the ball when we countered in the last min and then passed to Sanchez was so good.

His goal was brilliant too.

Just give him a run. See what he's like when he plays with confidence? So talented.
Great goal by him as well, and hope he continues, and builds, on that 2nd half performance. I know he can do it. Just needs to always put the effort in.

Must start every game, simple as that. He is clearly our best player on the left wing.

Awesome talent.

Where are his haters who think he puts in no effort whatsoever? I notice @CA1 has been banned after his ridiculous comment.

His biggest issue is confidence, I think before his goal he didn't even take a single shot when he had some half opportunities to do so. He needs a run of games, he needs the backing of the manager, and with some confidence like he showed in the last half hour, he will produce something for the team more consistently.

Seemed to get his confidence back in the second half, but still decision making isn't great. Good goal and played some good stuff at times.
He's that type of player. Most things he does won't come off but when they do...
Brilliant second half from him.

Fantastic last 20 minutes. Great player to watch in full flow with everything clicking for him.

He looked God in his face in the last 20 minutes of that game.

He'd be tearing this league up and we'd be discussing him in the same breath as Mbappe under an attacking coach.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Felt almost sorry for him when for the first 70 minutes you could see he was trying and trying to make something happen but pretty much messed everything up. After the goal he seemed a completely changed player, hope he can take the confidence from this game into the next and show more of what he showed in the last twenty minutes.

Pretty clear what the teammates were thinking, they were constantly looking to play the ball to him.

.....and right there, ladies and gentleman, is what a talented player does when the system employed is played to his strengths. It's a no-brainer. Press higher, increase the tempo, push forward and you put dangerous players in advanced positions, rather than at the half-way line.

This. Valencia looked like Ronaldo when Scholes used to ping the ball at him instantly and he had only the fullback infront of him.

In the first 70 he was isolated to run against Yedlin That won't work. When the team decided to attack, he came to life. Great last 20 or so! Him, Mata and Pogba were immense

When they zoomed in on him it looked like he needed Ando's oxygen mask when the final whistle went

Brilliant in the last quarter of the match, wonderful goal at a vital moment.

Yep!

Which is more difficult?

A. Receive ball at half-way and run half a field just to get to a dangerous advanced position pre-fatigued.
B. Receive ball in last third and run in shorter sprints in more dangerous areas with less fatigue.

It always amazes me when we play so deep and fans seem shocked that our wide players are ineffective. Let today be something of a reminder to our coaching organisation to stay on the front foot.
