Mata, Pogba and Pereira are the best technical players in the squad. 2 out of the 3 need to start every game.
And Fred. I'd start 3 from those 4. Technical players must play with other technical players otherwise they don't look as good. Pogba played in the 1st half but look at the change in him and Martial when Mata came on.

Mata deserves big credit today. Pogba was indeed very efficient and not too bothered about taking up space but rather making it for others, i like this version of Pogba a lot better than the dribblefanatic.

This has oft been mentioned as something we haven't had for ages. For all the (deserved at times) criticism he's had recently, Pogba did exactly that in that second half today.

He drove us forward and really made things happen, it was great to see even if it shouldn't have been needed for us to come back from behind against shit like Newcastle.

More of that please Paul.
Agreed, well done PP!

Yes Fred too - it will make Pogbas job so much easier if you put quality players around him.

Think Mata should be starting now. Not his greatest fan but seems one of the few who can handle the pressure at the moment.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
I'm a little surprised Mata is getting as much credit as what he is. I didn't think he really came into the game until after Pogba and Martial had already taken control and started driving us forward. Mata obviously played a big part after that though.

the european tranfer window not uk sorry
Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

The Euro window closed August 31st, which was actually after his two worst games. Since then he’s been very good.

He’s a very good player, one of the very best in the league, but I’m not sure Pogba can ever be realised as the best midfielder in this league as long as we are not in the debate for being the best team in the league. That’s unfortunately just how UK public opinion is shaped on footy.

Agree with this. It’s something we’ve missed and what’s infuriated fans is that we know we have a player who can. I thought Pogba was fantastic yesterday when we needed it. In every way. There was a moment when he was deepest lying and telling smalling and Matic to get out wider and higher. Then he’s popping up with a back heel to martial. I criticise Pogba and hope the need to lessens, but how good he can be isn’t in doubt. Thought he did himself proud yesterday.

Everything was perfect from what I'd like to see as a United fan in that second half. Now we desperately need to build on it and that's the biggest factor now.
Can we/Jose ?

Martial, Pogba, and Mata were fantastic. Showed great character.
They did. Then they have a poor, ineffective game and they're trashed. We have a problem with players showing they can consistently stand up and be counted but it's heartening to know it's possible, and that we don't need some mass exodus of players.

My wit's end
Pogba might be capable of it, but you can't rely on him to do it for 90 minutes every match. It takes a metaphorical slap in the face to get it out of him.

We still require a player who has this character in his DNA.
