Yeah saw this. Blatantly changed the rules for him haven't they.

Looks a brilliant player. Bowls 90mph, hits the ball hard and can field. Basically another Stokes.

Will he get in the test side though? Does he have the skill to be a test bowler?
To be fair this means the ECB is now aligned with the ICC on this rule. And as much he's made his name playing the shorter format stuff he has a great record in the 4 day stuff.

Great. He should be a real asset in Asia and the Sub-continent.

Can only think of Sam Burgess though. Parachuted into the England rugby squad on the eve of the world cup and undermined the team harmony. Hopefully Archer wouldn't do likewise. Our ODI team is pretty settled and fairly close by all accounts.

Archer has a decent record in 1st class cricket, over 100 wickets at 24 and batting average of over 30 so not too shabby. Whether he can step up, time will tell but i read last year somewhere that he his father was English and he has a British passport so i don't really understand the qualifying malarky.

Will be great to Australia next time with Archer, Stone, Stokes and others (J Overton, Mahmood etc). Let's see the Aussies try and bully us then.
