Apart from Gomes, Chong and O'Connor that starting 11 just reeks of "average". Reading are 2nd so it's going to be a very difficult game. Didn't realise how tight it was, only 2 points separating 1st-4th.

Competitive game this is, both teams going for it. Still 0-0 about half an hour gone.

Great save by Kovar to keep it 0-0.

It's pretty much every team. Against Wolves I think Angel was fouled easily 10+ times. He gets hit late every time he touches the ball.
Im surprised how much the officials let go at youth level. I've seen a few u-19 where it is literally foul after foul. Even when they get called up for it, the refs are shy with the cards

Reading thug scissor kicks Chong as he is about to break, gets away with a booking. Disgraceful. Looks like he's injured him as well.

The reffing is a joke and I've complained about it for years. I get wanting to be lenient with kids and to try teach them a lesson instead of just punishing with red cards but its taken so far to the extreme that is just downright dangerous. Kids are literally having their careers ruined because of the disgraceful refereeing allowing purposefully reckless and dangerous tackles go.

If a kid is a split second late and it is an accident then fair enough give him a talking to and a yellow. But that shit there with Chong being nowhere near the ball and absolutely smashing through his legs with clear aggression and attempt to hurt him should be nothing less than a red. Chong and Gomes have both been hurt today. Chong was out for like 6-7 months because of some Everton thug who shouldn't have even been on the pitch by then. The refs are offering zero protection to these kids and they're getting the shit kicked out of them and it is ridiculous.

Very poor that that wasn't a red card. Completely just took Chong out. Where's the protection for the player?
