I think he needs to go in Jan or summer. Was always under the impression we needed him as a plan B due to the lack of other options (jose and LVG sure made many believe that)

however unless hes happy with a 5 min cameo here and there as plan c or d, think he should go.

Going off today it's not looking good for him, Solskjaer rested Pogba, Matic and Herrera and still didn't pick Fellaini ahead of Pereira, McTominay and Fred in a 3 man midfield. Basically 7th choice at the minute.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

That was my first thought as well, but Ole did mention the other day that Fellaini was struggling with a bit of an injury. That might be why he was only on the bench today.

Anyone else think he cut his hair because of Chong?

Ain't no competing with that hair.

I think he had a knock.
Saying that, he's clearly our fourth ranked midfielder ATM. Ole can't bring any of those starters on today in front of him.
We need some midfield cover in the summer.

Pereira, Fred, Mctominay and Fellaini all look like poor options at the moment.

I am not a big fan of his, but I would keep him until the summer and send Mctominay on loan.

I agree with the McTom point.

If the Turkish interest was true, then I'd still look to sell Fellani this Jan. He's not necessarily as far down the pecking order after the performances of Fred and Perreira today, but they have the potential, while we low Fellani's ceiling and how it is less suited to Ole's tactics. Throw into the mix of TFM returning this Jan, plus the emergence if Garner and Gomes into match day squad.

We need to clear out the average to make way for potential stars, Fellani would be one of the 1st casualties.

First time I've seen him look like he didn't give a feck at this club. He always gives everything. I won't be surprised if he feels like the club is shitting on him. That contract thing made it so obvious that it was Mourinho who wanted him, not the club. So maybe he feels he has nothing to play for. Probably thinks McTominay getting a start over him is an insult.

Don’t really care for him. He tries and has spirit, but lacks any basic qualities to make him a United-level midfielder.

Yes, you can throw him on in the last 10 minutes of a game in the #10 position to win a few balls, but is that really what this club is about?

They are poor options, we need better squad players and in the case of Fred we needed a player of a higher calibre for the money spent.

Fellaini, on the other hand, is an asset to a team that wants to play direct football, he's not going to be an asset to any team managed with the football style Ole want's to play or United should be playing.

Noticed that too and I can see his point. If he's okay with backup role meaning getting on when a goal is needed in last 15 mins or an odd cup game I'd be against getting rid of him.

Can't say i thought that when watching him, i thought he played like he has done in a lot of matches. He at times comes on and just wanders around midfield without really getting into the game.

Keita, Fabinino, Ox. Those 3 didn't start against City. We are so far behind in that department. Not even talking about the defence.

Well i'm not sure what you were watching then, because the 3 subs and Lukaku were the only ones trying to lift the tempo in the 2nd half.

Even if he was fully fit which he obviously isn't I doubt it.

And yet he showed why he’s a more sound sub than any of those three duds in the time he was on.

It is always the same. They always think they can do without the big man. At last they will realise the error in their thinking. When nothing works and we are a goal down, it is Fellaini time. :D

The other 3 were horrible so even if he did it's not saying much and he should be playing better considering he's older, more experienced and has played a lot more football than the other 3 this season.

Having said all that Fellaini didn't exactly play well either. Though we should probably give him a pass seeing as he's been feeding on scraps since Mourinho got the boot.

He is a player who is going to be missed when all other options do not work.

Rather focus on being very good at plan A before we worry about plan B.
Startled by Ole's complete refusal to see him as an option.

Funny how that option isn’t needed for Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG.

The only reason it has been an option is because we’ve played awful football which created very little in breaking teams down - hoofball to the big man should never be our plan B.

Indeed, we've not had a reliable plan A since Van Persie.

I wonder how we managed the Fergie time without Fellaini.
Exactly this.

We seemed to do pretty well under Fergie all those years without needing to resort to Plan B hoof the ball towards big lump up front.

The new manager may come in and like Fellaini, but it's looking increasingly likely that if Ole does become the permenant manager Fellaini won't be here next season.

Finally he isnt getting in the squad, we already got Lukaku for the Plan B and lump it to him if we need to. Fellaini just isnt good enough

Missed in the same way you miss the days off work when you’ve got the worst flu you’ve had all year

you guys do not understand. Fergie won because we had other options available. Right now we do not have those options available. Selling him is good if we get the players we need so that we do not need that option of Fellaini. Right now we do not have that options of buying those players before the summer.
