Madrid can feck off with their low ball offers. He is worth far more than Hazard so stop taking the piss and pony up his full value or go buy Eriksen from Spurs. Paul is just hitting his prime and is 2 years younger than Eden, not only is he on a long term contract with us but his resale value in 3 or 4 years will be far higher than Hazard. Age, contract, ability, resale value, commercial value all factor into the price and Paul is superior to Eden in every one of those areas. If we are asking 180 million we are spot on and if they try to haggle tell them the price is 200 million after July 1 and will rise 10 million a week from then until the window closes.
Attacking players worth more and Eden is more of a match winner than Paul could ever be. He contributed close to 40 goals last season. Eden should be worth more because even when he doesn't play well he is still a handful because of his direct dribbling

" ...according to 'ABC', Pogba is ready to hand in a 'transfer request' at United. If that doesn't work, he will threaten to go on strike at his current club and not return for preseason training...
Madrid don't want to spend more than €125m plus variables for Pogba whereas United are hoping to rake in closer to €180m..."
If he goes on a hunger strike then I may take this seriously otherwise, meh!

Eden is not worth more purely because of contracts. We have more leverage than Chelsea do for that reason. Chelsea can't let him sit for another year because then they risk losing him for nothing. Pogba can't sit out for a year because he'll potentially have 2 more years on his contract. In which case it changes things dramatically as now his wage demands go down and he ruins his reputation for marketing.

I am not leaving regardless of what happens.

I really do not see how it is nonsense that a World Cup winning star does not want to play for a side who only once managed to finish higher than fourth over the last six years.

I honestly dont see how United can keep players like that happy and invested at the moment.

He's no Ronaldo (or even Modric), so happy to take 150m and get rid. Ronaldo-less madrid will still be in rebuild mode for a couple more seasons, will get promptly booed by the Bernabeu and go play golf with Bale.

But given our efficiency in the transfer market where we can't even seem to buy a player from fecking Crystal Palace, I doubt we'll find a good replacement if he leaves this summer.

I hope he stays. Besides the marketing, he scored 13 goals last season in the league (more than Rashford). If we are going to sell him, we would need a player like Havertz, Eriksen or even Fernandes to replace him. Do you know any other goalscoring midfielder?

More than Rashy is not really a good parameter to judge a player.

Get rid. If we keep him against his wishes, he will play like an absolute drain next season. Will need to spend big to replace him though

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Hazard was on his last year of his contract. Paul has 2+1 remaining. He should cost more.
The post below was what I was referring to. I agree he'll cost more.

Paul is twice the player compared to anyone at your club, Hazard included. If you think that 180m is actually too much and not an insult to PP and Manchester United, you simply haven't seen Paul play. No other explanation.

We should flat out refuse to sell like PSG. We need him desperately this season.
Thing is keep him and he’ll stink the place up and not perform. You don’t get the best out of unhappy players generally. I’m sure we can work with his agent and get something favourable in allowing the transfer to happen.

We could offer him better wages, build the team around him and give him the captaincy, that will surely motivate him to play a full season, right?

Anyone who believes the will go on strike story is just as foolish as the person who wrote it.

I hope he stays and captains the team next season. We need 2 seriously good midfielders round him and to change the way we play.

That all said I do think he will go sadly leaving us huge gulf in quality in midfield

I can't believe people here are even discussing such insulting offers like 150m, 180m or 200m. Personally I would decline 250m because there's simply no one else who could contribute as much as Paul does for our club (both on and off the pitch), but understandably the board would have to entertain such offer. Anything below the world record fee +10% though? A bad joke.
This smacks of oh no, who can replace keano, and omg where will the goals come from without rvn! No one is irreplaceable, might take two players, might take a change in system but no one is irreplaceable. Especially not a player who's form fluctuates so wildly between 8/10 performances and 3/10 performances so regularly

Some of you act like he is some of sort of football god. Ronaldo gave Madrid all his sweat and took them to another level in European and world football, he wanted more pay, at least level with Messi who's generally considered to be the other of the top two in world football including him.. Madrid wouldn't budge and he moved. What has Pogba done at United? Europa league, league cup? Couple of great passes? Are we this starved of players, we will offer Old Trafford too to keep a player who claims to love United but can't wait to jump ship? Are we being sentimental because he returned to his so called "boyhood" club or what? He has already engineered a coup of some sort that got the last manager out. The club already grovel at his feet as he is the face of our club, yet he wants out. Where's our respect in all of this? You think Pep would keep a player who is not committed like Pogba?

Because Manchester united is a giant club, on top of that united made him the most expensive player in the world at the time, he should respect that and work hard to pay the club back, not sulk.

Robert Pires said: “Paul Pogba has football to play in the Premier League.
"When the club spends a lot of money like this for you, it’s because they believe in you.”

It's so disgusting. Can you believe it? No one can offer what Pogba offers Manchester United on and off the pitch? Are you kidding? People like these would have thought United was done when Keane, Beckham, Ronaldo left but we kept on winning and this charlatan that cannot lace the boots of these greats is so valuable to us that even £250 million is not enough to bin him. I can't believe you guys.

Some of you are just so funny. We are few weeks from pre season and we haven’t even replaced Herrera, no one in the right back slot yet. Not gotten the solid dm we need. Bought a championship player for our problematic right wing. But you somehow believe if we sold pogba now, we would get in a proper replacement? You clearly don’t know the poor management the club has been under in recent years.

If you really wish the club good and not some agenda. You would want to keep all your best players especially pogba. What we need to get rid of is the young’s, and darmians, and jones’ in our team.
How many years did hazard flirt with Madrid and say he wants to move from Chelsea. Didn’t he continue to play? How many years did C.Ronaldo do that at United, didn’t he continue to play? Even Rooney once requested a transfer. But continued to play.
Pogba merely praised zidane and said Madrid is a dream for most players and he is being treated like he has handed in 3 transfer requests and he can’t play for the club anymore. Some of you need to admit to urself you have an agenda against the guy.
Because everything shows he is the best player in the team. Neutral statistics sites all have him as the highest rated in our team (check whoscored.com) . He was voted as part of the epl team of the year inspite of his up and down season. That says so much about the ability and potential of the player and the crazy stats from midfield(for comparison check modric and Kroos even in their best seasons. You can take out pogba’s penalties if you like)
If we get quality in this team like how every other big team has many quality players and not just one or two. Pogba will definitely be mentioned amongst the epl best player of the year category every year. He is that good. Stop the blind hate. He hasn’t always performed. But still way better than any other player we have at the club.

What we need is more quality to join the quality we have(pogba). Not to take out our quality and bring another quality player to join the duds in the team. And the new quality player will also struggle and then we will chase him out too that he is not doing enough. Nobody can do enough with the likes of young , Jones Nd so much averageness all round.

No idea if it's true, but this idea of players going on strike is vomit-inducing. But in Pogba's case, I'm not sure how often we'd notice the difference. If true, then his a virus we can do without thank you

I appreciate your POV but what fecks me off is that it is the poor performances of players like that that got us into this position . Pogba switched off under Jose and then again in the final run in when he downed tools for Ole now he wants to leave because we are not in champs lge ! He’s a disgrace can’t wait to see the back of him

Relax, Pogba ain't going on strike. Raiola is no fool. Going on strike means breaching the terms of his contract and it will incur fines. Sitting on his ass when Euro 2020 is coming up is a non-starter.

If Madrid really want him, pay up by July 1st. After that, it won't only be the fax machine that won't work, the phones email etc will not be answered. Negotiations are done. They can write as many articles as they want and use their dirty tricks, it should just be ignored. Paul will have to honour the terms of his contract and if he still wants Madrid to stay interested, then he'll look to put in excellent performances.

In no way should we deviate from the amount we value him at.

Going on strike is preferable to agreeing to play and then causally strolling around the pitch for 90 minutes, so this would be a major upgrade over last season.

I agree totally except for the part about Pogba being a good player!
Wow hes so rubbish he went for record fee and managed to get two heavyweight European clubs to chase after his service. What kind of juju did he put on them!? I wonder why doesn't they want our actually good players like Shaw, Mctominay and co? We should have more rubbish players tbh.

He went on strike under Mourino so he has form in this area. Get him to Madrid today.
He is not someone you can rebuild your club around

Hopefully we'll sell him this month and then start planning the future with players that want to be here. Get Lo Celso + Fernandes and we'd be fine.

If he is anxious to leave he and pizzaboy can take some of their generous compensation and chip in with the poverty ridden Madrid for his transfer fee.

He's going nowhere unless we get a disgustingly high offer for him. Even a child should know that we do not need to sell whatsoever, so we hold out for the best possible price and if possible make it a race to sign him if clubs get interested. Raiola will help in that regard. Then pick the best offer, hopefully a swap deal for some player who will immediately fix a problem area for us + a hefty wad of cash.

Really starting to hate football now. Could we have fecked things up any worse since 2013 than we have? It’s actually incredible how literally every single thing never works out for us.

Meh. He was always going to go at some point. Get as much as we can for him and move on.
