Cannot select text when typing a post on iOS

This is an issue for me both on my iphone and ipad. Whenever I’m typing a post I’m unable to select/highlight a specific part of the text. If I press select on a word I’m able to select only that word and if I try to move the little pins on the side of the word it automatically selects the entire post.
If I press ‘select everything’ and try to adjust the selection it just glitches and I’m unable to move it where I want.

Other people must have the same problem. I just bought a new ipad and it’s the same problem on that one too. Really annoying when playing WW.

Yup, I only wanted to brag about my new ipad so I just found an excuse to mention that

Sike, already did that in the ‘what’s your most expensive item you have bought this year’ thread. Just mentioned it to show that it wasn’t because of my old outdated devices.

Another problem with chrome on iPad iOS 12 is the keyboard obscuring the written text. Doesn't happen always though.

@Macern yes I’ve encountered this also on iOS. It’s a known issue affecting XenForo 1 but looks like there is no fix they can make as it’s a browser bug.

XenForo 2 shouldn’t be affected so when the site upgrades to that this issue will go away. That’s still a couple of months away at least though.

I don't really reply to posts on my phone anymore. For some reason when typing you can't scroll up or down, which makes typing anything longer than a couple of sentences impossible. It just shakes and judders a lot. Anyone else get this?

Same problem here. Glad to hear it’ll be sorted eventually. Thought it was an iOS12 glitch.

@Niall so I have the same fault as above on my iPad but now I’m noticing I can’t use the multi quote function. I can select the quote with some very delicate finger movements and it says added to multi quote but when I go to insert it. It says I don’t have access to this page. Any ideas?

Are you on the latest version of iOS? It was fixed for me with a recent update.

I get the same issue with the instead quotes, I had the same issue a few months ago and @Niall managed to sort it, but now it's back. It was something about too strict security last time
