Only because India and Pakistan were knocked out deservedly. Can't blame the format for that.
Indiscipline let Windies down yesterday. They were playing 20/20 and forgot it was a 50 over match. Small margins between all the teams. India and England, however, have just that extra class to win the tournament if all goes to form.
One record I was sure would fall was the highest chase in a world cup. I'm surprised it's still not been broken.

Yeah but that's why the format may not be that well suited for cricket. For football it works since amount of good sides are bigger in number so few upsets in group stages adds drama. But even then when in 2002 so many big teams went out early then knockouts ended up being super underwhelming. Trying to specifically engineer a format where lesser skilled teams can do better seems odd for a WC. This format mains problem is exclusion of teams and agree with that criticism. Otherwise it is fine and probably the best way to decide the winner of a WC.
Just had a look at the remaining fixtures - our last four games are crammed into 9 days, where as it took 24 to complete the first five. What shit planning.
