If we’ve ‘done’ anything it will just be agreeing the price. U21’s only arrived back at Birmingham Airport about 3:30 this afternoon. Still the medical, personal terms and contract to sign. Should be a formality if we’ve finally settled on a price though.

Thought personal terms were agreed ages ago. We wouldn't waste time going back and forth with Palace if we weren't already sure he would join.

Maybe because it’s not ‘a done deal’ as quoted. Nothing to do with when an announcement will be made. He’s not signed yet, that’s a done deal in my book. Should be a formality but suppose he fails a medical for some reason? I’d be staggered if we haven’t agreed the sale terms with CPFC after all this time, that’s what I think Simon is calling. Hope the club will announce that he’s undergoing a medical in the next day or two though.

He actually said the negotiation was done. He was saying that the story from Stone that we are still in negotiations is spin and we have agreed the fee and the terms which is not the same as saying it is done but is also a statement I could make and feel pretty confident about. We have not fecked around with this for the best part of two months only to walk away a couple of days before pre-season. It is easy to make claims like this and then claim your are vindicated when the inevitable happens. Now if he pops up tomorrow and says AWB press conference 3 o clock Thursday and proves to be right then I will concede he knows something but otherwise he is making a safe guess and I am not impressed.

What is xisimon's view on De Ligt? Im on the wagon now.
He called the signings of Fred, Grant and Dalot last year. He's different to the other ITKs in that he posts rarely, but when he does its usually solid info.
He had said in May that while we initially believed De Ligt was headed to Barca, something had happened that made his move there less certain, prompting us to make an offer. He hasn't mentioned anything about De Ligt since then, other than to call out people who had been falsely claiming it was a done deal.
I Think Simon's source is within IT and marketing department. As soon as the source is told "Make a graphic for the announcement". Simon finds out and tells us Muppets
He said we were in for Koulibaly over a month ago and hasn't said anything since. I'm holding out hope that we're still in for him and this Slabhead garbage in the press is just a smokescreen.
Would make sense - he was extremely vocal about the supposed ITKs that said De Ligt was done weeks ago because the marketing team was putting together a big graphic/campaign.
That was before whatever happened with Barca and De Ligt though. Also, Napoli have been very vocal in asserting they won't sell Koulibaly, so I'd be surprised if we were still in for him.
