Best player for Juventus in friendly against Inter just now, looked much better than De Ligt or Bonucci! Scored the winning penalty too. Perfect for PL - fast, strong, aggressive, going for those spectacular sliding tackles. At his age, surely much higher potential ability than Maguire... Have there been any new links to us or just the dubious Turkish one? This could be much smarter signing for half the price at most.

I hope we enquire at least, this guy genuinely reminds me of Vidic with that defensive killer instinct.

Didn't he complete his move to Juve for 18 mil euros this summer...Not sure how you value him at 40.
They had an agreement. Some Italian poster explained it well.

I saw him for Turkey a month ago, i would pay 40m for him today.

I think he would look comfortable alongside Lindelof. He ll be the aggressive CB while Lindelof will have a more leading role

They had a agreement to sign him this summer but then move him on in the same window?

Isn't there a law or something which states a player cannot move twice within the same window?

No but there is rule that a player can only be registered by 2 clubs in one season. Not sure when the authorities consider the start of the new season to be.

Nah, they had an agreement with Sassuolo. I mean the 18m price tag was for Juve of course and they bought the player because he was basically theirs.

I dont think that law exists anymore? Lo Celso got bought from PSG this summer and is now going to Spurs.

They've signed 3 CBs this summer, while they already had Chiellini, Rugani and Bonucci. One has already been loaned out again. If Sarri sticks to his system then 5 CBs seems a bit much. If I'm not mistaken, as long as the player hasn't played an official game, some other team can sign him and register said player. With the possibility of them making a profit, it could be possible. Not saying it's going to happen or is likely.

Most likely at the beginning of July, considering contracts always run until the end of June.

He s a big fan of Vidic

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking. In theory, the perfect CB pairing consists of an aggressive stopper and a composed, covering ball-player: Puyol - Pique, Vidic - Ferdinand, Chiellini - Bonucci... Lindelof could mature into that ball-playing role, he seems to be gaining confidence. This Demiral guy though, he'd be perfect next to him as the physical bully. I'm not going to pretend I've followed his early matches in Turkey or for Sassuolo - only seen him play against French NT and against Inter just now - but he absolutely bossed both of those matches. Real intimidating presence, PL attackers would be scared of him.

Looks like Bailly to me. There is no chance we are gonna sign non-british defender this transfer window. So it is Maguire or no one.

I'm just going to go ahead and be a salty prick...it would be hilarious if he displaces De Ligt in the starting lineup

Uncanny.. Was thinking only yesterday i'd like us to go for him if there's a chance. Not much of a source perhaps but still. Maybe he's just putting two and two together like myself. I don't rate Lindelöf.

Does he play on the right?

I am not sure if he would be a good fit. Whilst he is that aggressive defender that would maybe suit Maguire we need someone in that backline with some recovery pace. As we saw against Chelsea, that goal could have been prevented I believe if it was Tuanzebe there instead of Rojo. Maguire's defending is quite front-foot. We need one person to cover for whoever plays on the front foot.

If Demiral came and played his game like he does we would need Maguire to cover for him in behind, but he has not got the speed or agility needed for that.

Most recently he played on the left against France. I don't think it matters. People give too much credence to that sort of thing.
It matters actually. All top managers sign CB based on where they can play.

Vidic - LCB
Rio - RCB
Maguire - LCB
VVD - LCB
Laporte - LCB

Both narrow minded opinions for me. In a partnership it's give and take. Players learn to play together and they adapt to each other. It's not always as if one pushes and one stays. What matters to me is what their personality traits are and whether they're good enough for Man Utd.

The argument that players have to play on a specific side is over rated. Being left footed is another story of course like in Laporte's case.

I guess PL managers are narrow minded because on numerous occasions have managers come and said x player doesnt suit RCB or something.

So a right footed player can play LCB but not RCB? maybe that's narrow minded.

Clearly I meant a right footed player can play both LCB and RCB

But a Left footed can only play LCB..

yeah please do, just because you cannot take being questioned. Easy way out.

Personally I couldn’t give a feck if he plays right or left, I’m more bothered about the fact of being linked with another centre back when we already have 7 or 8 internationals on our books as it is so no thanks especially for a player that’s on his third club THIS YEAR alone.

Looks a real quality centre back. Reminds me of Vidic. Loves a tackle, gets his head to anything in the box. Scores goals. Only 23. I'd have him here.

He looks like another nutter. He was good last night. I wouldn’t have fancied our chances of scoring 3 if he’d stayed on.
Same here. Like the above poster said he's in the Vidic mould. Would love another nutter like that.
