Are Spurs the dirtiest club in the league?

It’s funny as they are a team of absolute pussies, but wannabee hard men. Not remotely intimidating or threatening but cowardly and nasty in tackling

Why does he need to do that in a friendly match? Ok fine no trophies in 100 years or whatever is frustrating but doing that in a friendly match is just stupid.

Absolute joke that you think they’re even comparable. Pereira’s tackle in the context of the play was what you’d expect, the ball got away from him and he went in for the tackle - and actually won the fecking challenge. It’s completely expecting in a game of professional football, friendly or not. A stamp just isn’t.
Please quote me where I said it was comparable. I wish people would read my posts before responding with rage.

I see. United were 2nd from bottom in the fair play table and Spurs 8th … due to poor match officials across the entire 72 games. And I suppose it's a similar explanation for the last 3 seasons.
Depends how many of them red cards united got were for bad challenges, or serious foul play?
Red cards can be given for handball, a second yellow for kicking the ball away etc.
I think what people are trying to say in this thread is that Spurs tend to step over the line in terms of robust tackling more than most other clubs, which I think is hard to argue with.

All the Spurs fans have gone full Glaston in this thread. Defending stamps in a friendly, making up two-footed tackles, posting the fair play table, inviting united players to get comforted in the cheese room...

tbf Im quite partial to cheese.

I kind of agree with the fair play tables, you cannot take one game in a microcosm and say well the whole teams play revolves around the dark arts. You need to look at how many they accrue over the course of a season which gives a better indication. City are the masters of the tactical foul for me, not Spurs. Think you might be on a break? A quick couple of tugs on the shirt or a trip soon puts an end to that. And it is constant, deliberate and well seemingly planned, as in different individuals.

Alli is still a dis likeable cretin however. has had it in his game since he came into the EPL.

I haven't posted .

My view that "stamp" was uncalled for as were the challenges on James were hard, but hes a quick littler fecker. Dele is Dele, I would say the heat and out lack of fitness didn't help matters. What makes me laugh is there is all this faux outrage about "hospitalising" United players then Pereira goes in with just as bad a challenge and its "Yeah Lay it on him", "get Rojo in with his elbows". We were well off the pace and made a few rash challenges, Poch apologised , move on.

The Sissoko stamp was ridiculous and set the tone for the rest of the game.

If the ref had sent him off it wouldn’t of been such a heated game.

Dele Alli is repeatedly the worst one and once again set the tone yesterday. He's always trying to act like a wannabe hard man.

Spurs aren’t dirty and I really like what Ole said about tackling being part and parcel of the game. Ok, the stamp was unnecessary but the tackles were hard and one or two slightly mistimed but nothing knee high or career ending.

Alli is a pussycat and laughable when people whinge about him using strong arm tactics. The game needs a bit of edge and every football match goes up a notch when the tackles go in and if tackles are flying around the law of averages says some will be poorly timed.

All? Last I checked half have some weird argument and half like myself admit we sometimes play a game that toes the line and I'll happily say I enjoy it. I just thought that it shouldn't be happening in a friendly though.

Didn’t realize there were so many of you annoying feckers. Seems like there are enough of you to create your own forum...

What a load of bolloxks mate. Just totting up red and yellow carts should not be conflated to how much a team fouls. Such a comparison would be grossly skewed if a team has red cards for deliberate handball for example - not an offence you would consider to be ‘dirty’ - which I believe is the accusation being made.
Of course there isn't an exact translation between yellow/red cards and fouling, but it's pretty close because the vast majority of such cards are handed out for fouling.

So no, the Fair Pay table is not bollocks, as much as you may dislike the fact the United finished 2nd bottom in it.

Dele Alli, Lamela, Dier and Sissoko. That is a lot of players to have in one team if they all have a tendency to go full-on maniac. I think it is hard to argue against the notion that Spurs are being coached into being a cynical and dirty team. You could argue these particular players behaviour is infectious and I would listen to that argument, but any other argument seems to be flawed. Dry stats on the intention behind a players action is not a thing.
If that's the case, then such coaching is not being very successful. Or else we'd be at or near the bottom of the Fair Play league, but this spot is occupied by United.

I'm really looking forward to follow the FPL this season. Last season was a travesty for all the FPL fans who also support United. Its the only league that matters though.

Seriously, I do think Pochettino are coaching them into being a rough team but you just have a few players that sometimes take it too far, simply because they are jerks. But I don't think he minds either.. or maybe he does since he apologised recently for his team being wankers.

I would say physical, but yeah I would agree that's something Poch wants them to be.

That's a bit strong no? How are we disgusting?
Am I the only one that thought it was an awesome game for being a summer "friendly"? Rather see that then the dross we are normally served up during the summer. Seen worse than that "stamp" and Pereira´s challenge. Both sides showed that they might be up for it this year.

That’s not true either. That was a decent enough tackle with an irresponsible follow through. Stamping on someone is just mental. Especially so given the circumstances.

That's where I am at on it, again I think it was more to do with our lack of fitness than anything else. The stamp was uncalled for and unnecessary as I have said, that was the only malicious thing I seen.

Yeah but I already said the stamp was totally out of order, but I have seen much worse.

I’m responding to your post which said the challenge was ‘just as bad’, so I assumed you meant just as bad as the spurs’ players behaviour. I don’t dislike spurs but the behaviour of your players yesterday was so weird given the circumstances. What was all that about?

Of course you’ve seen worse. What does that have to do with anything?

As I said It was mainly Sissoko, a unit with not a great deal of footballing technique, and Dele who can be rash, we are 2 games behind you in preseason, playing in sweltering conditions, you were just a quicker team.

It was just an opinion.

I already said Sissiko was a twat and Dele rash like he has been, I’m not his biggest fan to be honest. Why is what I stated irrelevant, is you level of debate foaming at the mouth and calling people cnuts, Why do you need to be so rude? Was it nature or nurture?

They're an utter disgrace.
Because of Son? Most neutrals on BBC saying its not a red and just terrible luck for Gomez. I haven't seen it myself but not sure I want to see a replay!

Aurier is like a bull in China shop, looking at the replay again it was him that broke Gomes ankle.

Crikey that's a horrible injury. You can see Son himself being horrified by it too.
