To me, he’s not looked a better player than Tahith Chong so far in pre-season, who will possibly feel a bit aggrieved as I suspect he’d naturally be behind in the pecking order because he was not a £15m signing. Both are young players, and I reckon both will feel entitled to have a similar shot.

And how did you reach that conclusion? The proof will be in the pudding. I believe both of them will get chances and it’s a matter of who takes them.

If Chong is looking for an extended run in the team to build confidence and then he is in the wrong place. I believe he has the talent but needs to go to a lesser team and get some experience first.

By watching both players. How else?

Not at all. You're being very silly with the flair and technical ability quote. It means nothing. Just words thrown around here, maybe good enough for Fifa and youtube compilations, but rarely effective in real football with real results. Ronaldo, Bale, all the top wingers are about impact and accuracy. They also have plenty of ability to do other things.
Thank you! Without top speed to force opponents to check on you, you either open space or you get the space. Direct football is required and James will bring that. When he starts having several fouls, cards and penalties for him, they will start marking him. If they do that, any of his runs are going to open highways for Rashford and Martial.

On Redcafe it is. It's a completely nebulous term used here that ends up meaning nothing because of how much people use it. You'd ask people what it really means and they wouldn't be able to define it. It's just basic dribbling and trapping the ball. Most pros have it at this level.
I think what is most useful in technique is essentially first touch, in the sense that if you receive the ball and instead of requiring two touches, you can keep the ball flowing in one touch, then you are already winning. If that can be used to surprise a defender, better. But if that can be coupled with blazing speed that would leave defenders one tempo late, than its superb.

If James can talk and work with Ole and Giggs he will get some tips. I wish him the best.

By watching both players you came to the conclusion that Daniel James will be above in then pecking order? That doesn’t make any sense.
By watching both players I came to the conclusion that Daniel James has not been better than Chong.

James and Chong both need to be in the team, competing for positions and driving up the standard across the front line. I think they both have a lot of potential and definitely bring some very different qualities while what they both have in common makes them perfect additions to the first team, such as drive, and hunger... they both have a place in the team.

I personally believe that Chong is not quite at the standard of Greenwood/Gomes/Garner. James will get more chances simply because raw pace causes problems for defenders
