Is there any way back into our side for Alexis Sanchez?

My only hope for Sanchez is that we're now playing a style of football which suits him. Even if he's a little slower he'll still press like a madman. I think the real issue with Sanchez is his integrating into the team. As at Arsenal, it's reported he spends a lot of time by himself and isn't the most popular figure. Coupled with the fact that he's on the highest wage in the team and is rarely picture with any of the players on social media. I feel the biggest obstacle for Ole will be getting him to feel or be welcomed as part of the team. If he feels "wanted" because he's a bit of a delicate snowflake then we'll see the best of him. It depends if Ole wants to indulge that side of him or just feels like getting rid to lighten the dressing room atmosphere.
Not a chance. Even Lukaku has to be sold because of incompatibility with Ole tactics. So either Sanchez changes his games somewhat (another hopeless situation) or he will compete with Greenwood for League Cup games....

If he focused more on getting into goal scoring positions he could be an asset as he is a good finisher. Problem is that he is often out there trying to be the one to create the chances

Should Inter stump up the cash for Lukaku that should give Sanchez one last chance. With only Rashford, Martial and maybe Greenwood for competition, Alexis should be staking a claim to the centre forward role in our team.

If he performs, of course. A fit and in-form Sanchez is better than any of our other forwards.

But if not, then get rid. Just take some money for him, and tell him to leave. Just get on with it. Such a shame how this has worked out, because he could turn a team around.

His only viable position is as a “false” 9. Played great for Chile in the Copa and well capable of delivering but needs to be the fulcrum of our attack.

Having said that, I expect nothing from him.

Huh? What are you talking about, changes his game? Sanchez is literally known for pressing like a madman, which is exactly how Ole wants to play. He still runs around like a mad dog for Chillie, it's a case of if he has the motivation, either internal or external to do that for us. He suits the style Ole wants perfectly on the pitch. He doesn't need to change his game at all....

All players need to adapt their game when they start losing their pace.

Playing him in a different position isn't going to magically give him his pace back or make him look like a competent footballer again. It didn't work with Rooney and it's not going to work with Sanchez. He'll be given opportunities but he won't take them, he's finished as a top level footballer. Anyone who thinks otherwise is being naive. His decline started at Arsenal and in the 18 months he's been here he's never once looked like even half the player we thought we were getting.

Adriano, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Torres, Rooney...

Struggling to think of an example of a player who lost "it" and got it back.

It’s not just his pace - his legs are gone in general. No longer has quick feet. What’s worse is he’s not overcome the denial and still plays like he’s 7 years younger. Useless.

Having said that - with Lukaku gone and either rash/tony moved more up front he’s bound to play more

I still have some hopes for him. He seems to be able to still rack up the goals and assists in a Chile shirt in the recent Copa, so he still has it in him. Maybe it's our system or something. Everything goes through him in the Chile side while ours is mainly with Pogba. They seem to can't operate together

He isn’t fit enough or quick enough for the game Ole wants to play. I believe he also a disruptive influence in the dressing room with only Herrera speaking to him. Injury prone and I bet Wenger is still pissing himself laughing about the exchange although Mika didn’t work out either.

He could do a promotional movie for us, or just play the piano or something.

I mean, he is living proof that we are so fecking rich, the only club who can afford to pay the highest wage to some random lad out there doing nothing.

Personally given up on him. We’ve given him plenty of chances, tried him in various roles and he just looks past it.

Would rather get rid right now but I know that is very unlikely to happen unless a club from China comes in for him.

He will be the replacement for Lukaku as a number 9, isn't it? Not that i disapprove of it, he's actually capable of playing there. His game is about high pressing for a start

No. He'll probably have at least 5 extended periods of injury this season even with next to no play time, and they'll all be muscle related.
Don’t forget the new 3 year contract that comes standard with ageing players we should really be shipping out

I think there is a way back for Sanchez. It's just not on the left wing. It would have to be either in the #10 or on the right wing where his man job will be to take players wide and try to set up a goal rather than try to score. I don't think he would start a lot of games, but this is the only way I see a way back in for him. He's been brutal on the left...

we always seem to have one has been on big wages, don’t we? at least Rooney had a massive career for us behind him. this is even worse than that.

If pressing like madman is all you need then Sanchez' dog has better chance in the 1st team. Mourinho likes pressing, what happened? Ole doesn't proiortise pressing but speed on counter-attack. Sanchez holds on to the ball too much, never pass the ball fast enough. Sanchez press ONLY after he lost ball possession if you notice....

That's because he was asked to play on the left of the front 3
I recall there was 1 or 2 games Sanchez was tasked to play in the hole or as #10, he still drifted into the left and clash with Martial...

His quickness is gone. Hence he is far less effective as a player. Try imagining what Rashford would be without his pace and running.
His games on Copa America really great to see. Seemed like a completely different player, made me think he could do something differente this season, but got injuried and the lack of pre season might hurt him big time.

He actually fits Ole's pressing system when healthy. If he stays healthy, I think he will have a surprise season where he actually contributes half his wages.

He's the 2019 version of ageing Rooney, minus the goals and assists to paper over the cracks of course. The best I can see is for him to continue playing like a 65 year old as he has, with moments here and there of quality and end product which people will celebrate and get their hopes up about but eventually lead to further disappointment.

Of course anything can happen in footy. But Sanchez looks as a top player now. A decent squad player is the best we can hope for. Truth be told, I wish we were able to get rid and give our talented youngsters chances.

Send Sanchez packing to Europe - there he can find a team to over-pay for him but not in the outrageous way we did. He'll be fine there as so many South American players are, the man doesn't have the kind of drive to want to succeed in a rainy city in the north of England playing in a fast paced league.

Even if he still had real pace - which he doesn't - the attitude is a huge liability. Sanchez lacks character, won't adapt anymore and just isn't up for the style of play in the Premier League. I'm sure he is not a bad person but is an example of how grossly over-paid players are happy to let it kill their drive.

Doesn't care about Manchester United the club, isn't up for the realities of the Premier League, unmotivated and self-satisfied by the obscene salary which the person responsible for bringing him to the club should repay bit by bit from their own salary. POQ Alex.
