Question prompted by Stranger Things. Because Netflix release a whole season at a time, it's generally impossible to discuss stuff, episode by episode. People end up avoiding any threads about the show until they've watched the whole season in case they see spoilers.

The discussions you have after watching a whole season are very different to the classic "watercooler chats" you might have over the course of watching that season. Detailed discussions about individual episodes, predictions about what might happen etc etc All of which can be quite good fun.

One potential solution would be a new thread per episode. But that would spam the shit out of the Entertainment Forum. Any other ways this can be fixed? Or do I just need to suck it up?

Can you tag a spoiler so you know which episode it refers to?

There isn't really an ideal solution for this.

You could make a thread called "The Caf watches Stranger Things" and in the OP, have something like:

"Sunday 7th 9PM BST episode 1
Sunday 14th 9PM BST episode 2
Sunday 21st 9PM BST episode 3"

and so on, then watch it "live" at those times and discuss the episode for a week afterwards until the next one starts. A week after the final episode discussion ends, the thread would then be merged into the Stranger Things season three thread. Complication is that people are dicks, and with all the episodes at your fingertips, some will binge watch and post spoilers disguised as their own theories about what will happen

Good suggestion. Sadly I’m too lazy to make this happen. Tip-toeing through the spoilers I go...

Don't think there's a way to do this that'll please everyone. I don't mind avoiding the thread until I've watched it all but I know I have enough time free in the evenings to finish it in 2-3 days if I want to whereas others have more commitments.

Piss off out of here with your boasting about your amazing laid back evenings, laughing at harried middle aged men and their relentless shitty family commitments. Uncalled for.

How about two threads

Thread 1: for cnuts who watch it in one go and want to discuss everything
Thread 2: people who want to watch 1 episode per night (eg people who have a life) and want to discuss it accordingly

Easiest way to do this:

Anything that can be binged (e.g. Stranger Things) - One thread, with it accepted that some feckers are going to post "theories" despite having watched the whole thing and a limited period after initial release (e.g. 1-2 weeks) whereby everything is posted with spoiler tags, then after that it's fair game.

Anything that can't be binged - Once it's aired, spoiler tags are no longer needed, which is what I believe is policy.

Ha! I know how you feel. I sometimes go to the loo just so I can read for 5 mins

I watched it episode at a time a week apart. Did Netflix release it once all episodes had landed?
