Argentina is to Italy/Spain, what Canada is to the UK/Ireland.

Dybala has Italian family, for instance. Messi is of both Italian and Spanish heritage. Pretty sure Maradonna is, too.

In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in Argentina who doesn't trace their lineage back to either Italy or Spain or both.
Aye, there was mass immigration from Italy to Argentina in the Victorian era. There was some to England too. Manchester had the largest population pro-rata. Ancoats used to be known as little Italy but many were deported when Italy allied with Germany in the war. Some remained though and I know a number of English Italian families. When they first arrived here they sold Italian ice Cream and were known as the ice cream families. Ant Crolla is from one of those families.

Sarri isn't a manager that likes to rotate. He'll have his preferred team and those that don't fit into it will have limited minutes.
True, but it only takes a significant injury for the team to change. I think the conversation with Sarri will be a very influencing factor though.

Gone all quiet

Everyone is probably at home chilling now. Sarri smoking a cigar by his fireplace while Paulo is still napping after his long flights

Italian and Spanish are both romance languages so it's far easier for a South American to learn Italian than English. Most can understand Italian fresh off the boat.
English and German are both Germanic languages. That doesn't mean I can understand Das Boot without subtitles. 'Most can understand Italian straight off the boat' seems unlikely in the extreme.

It's one of the historical reasons why Argentinians feel such a close sporting affinity to Italian/Spanish clubs. Chances are, they have family who supported one of those teams back in the old country.
Dybala's ancestry is predominantly Polish though, not Italian.

Classic @Suedesi hating on England. Shock horror.

I'd rather live in England every time over Italy. I've been to Milan & Rome and whilst Rome had impressive history, both cities were incredibly run down in many areas and the amount of people who were homeless was shocking. The climate is obviously better for someone coming from Argentina but Italy has a shit ton of issues as a country, even more so than England.

London>any Italian city. Hands down. Shit, I'd even take Manchester over the two I went to.
Oh hey, little Englander.

I wouldn't worry about their opinions. It's questionable that they even watch Serie A on the regular. I mean, why watch someone paint with a roller instead of going Jackson Pollock on that mofo.

Dybala to reject United seems real... unless you will overpay his wages (on Sanchez level or so)
Dybala apparently wants $424K a week which is £350K a week so if you take away Lukaku’s £250K a week we’re effectively paying £100K a week extra for a far superior player without paying the huge transfer fee it would cost normally to sign a player like Dybala.

I think this coming season will be the last for Sanchez and Mata and that’s if we don’t get lucky and manage to offload Sanchez before the transfer window ends so the likelihood is after this upcoming season we’ll be £500-£600K a week better off in wages, if we’re really lucky we’ll have got Matic off the wage bill by then too.

Yeah, little Englander because I don't think England is a shithole. Get a grip.

You're the only one with the 'little englander' attitude by going around making untrue blanket statements about other nations. You're also on record now multiple times with your anti-England agenda. There's plenty to like and hate about both countries and where you prefer to live is going to come down a lot to personal preference/culture. Keep romanticising Italy as a nation though, you know the country where a player gets racially abused every 5 minutes and nobody gives a shit.

There's many factors at play here - Dybala, Juventus' #10 (same significance as our #7), had one bad season and was traded out of the blue by his club - by all accounts, he feels betrayed and angry.

So Juve's made clear he's done in Turin. There's an offer from United, a very good one at that. However, he's never expressed an ambition to play in the PL. (It's always been Real/Barca followed by PSG. ) We are in flux and have been since SAF retired. We play in the EL. But we are offering a higher salary, the manager seems to fancy him. He has to weigh all that in.

I think before he signs off on United, he will explore two other options in my opinion - Inter and PSG.

Now Inter can offer Icardi, a player Juve covets. Icardi wants to go to Juve. It's a complicated deal, but an exchange can happen.
PSG is still waiting to decide on Neymar, and if they offload him I can see Dybala fitting in there.

I don't expect this to get resolved this week.
I've worked it out:

Lukaku to Inter
Icardi to Juve
Dybala to PSG
Neymar to Barcelona
??? Coutinho to United

That's the right way to think about it. Once we let Darmian and Rojo go, two players that literally collect a check for training, then it's even better. And is Sanchez goes, oh my oh my.

That's why I don't get the concern - get rid of deadwood and pay the premium for players worth their weight in gold.

Ronaldo scored 5 less league goals in 4 more appearances than he did the season before, in a weaker league last year...
Lukaku scored 25 league goals in 16/17 but is seen as a 'must sell' on here. Dybala is seen as a 'must buy' largely because he had a good 17/18 in Serie A.

So it is all on Sarri now? I thought that Dybala is his type of player. He would be great for false nine in his formation.

Are you constantly repeating this line?

Or is it just the only thing being sprung from the negative mouths of redcaf members for the last 3 years?
True though, negative or not. He wants to stay at Juve, if not would consider a move to Real Madrid ( big of him) or Barca; not at all enamored with UTD or the EPL in general, but would deign to move here if the deal was heavily incentivised via the application of a gargantuan amount of weekly cash ( netto, of course ).
Given our track record with the likes of ADM, Veron and our resident mercenary extraordinaire, Alexis Sanchez, I think a modicum of wariness would be well advised instead of regarding another galactico type signing with the same guileless anticipation a horny teenager has when first discovering the delights of Porn Hub.

Yeah it's going to have got this far without Sarri already having made his feelings clear, this highnoon meeting stuff is bollocks.

Sure it's all about persuading Dybala to come to us, he could dig his heels in and stay, or quite understandably wait and see what happens until the end of August, not that that'll help us.

Conflicting reports,

Manchester United are ‘struggling to strike an agreement’ with Paulo Dybala, according to the Independent.

It’s been heavily reported that a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku going the other way to Turin hinges on the Argentine agreeing to move to Manchester.

However, it’s reported that there are ‘significant distance between the positions of the two parties’ and that Dybala is ‘nconvinced whether the move would be a “good step” for his career.’

Then,

United are reportedly ready to meet Paulo Dybala’s wage demands of €10m per year net.

It is claimed by Goal in Italy that Juventus have already taken the decision to move Dybala on and they will not change their minds, despite the player’s preference to remain in Turin.

Dybala is expected to hold talks with Juve boss Maurizio Sarri about his future later today.

Why can nothing ever be simple with us these days.

I could see this being true. A season or two ago he was almost like the Neymar of Italy in terms of hype. He was probably expecting a glittering career where he holds all the power. Thankfully, I imagine he doesn't quite have the ego of Neymar, so hopefully just needs a pat on the back from Ed.

I went to look up when Darmian's contract ended and saw that he would have been a free agent this summer, but United extended by one year to 2020.

I can't remember at all, but is that actually fecking true!? Christ. Just let the poor fecker go.

And what’s so good about Paris?
Not sure about Manchester, but at least London in comparison to Paris is a much better place to live, in my opinion.
Then you are probably biased. I don't think most people feel that way.

Ed wanted a transfer fee, if he doesn't get one then he has just thrown away a years wages on a player who is going to spend the year on the bench. Textbook malpractice.

am I the only one who finds Zaha to be massively overrated by some these days? There's a reason he's about to sign for Everton and not a bigger club.

Uhh not sure what you're getting at but i've posted about Dybala once before saying im conflicted about it. Pretty sure its been all negative since around November/December 2013 and for good reason too.
