Directly under the sun... NOW!
My team is so damn symmetrical! I love it!

I have:
Four 4s that'll never play.
Four 5.5s that'll always play.
Five 7.5s that'll play well.
Two 12s that'll shine.

Two from City, two from Liv, two from Spurs, one from Utd, one from Chelsea, one from Arse, one from Everton and three Cherries.

Where will Cancelo play for City? I have Walker in, might swap him out if he isn’t a cert to play. I prefer having a solid defence and using my free transfers further up the pitch. He’s mentioned as a leftback but seems an out and out right back on all accounts!

He's a RB isn't he? Defo makes Walker less secure.

The big decision for me is deciding between Sterling and Auba/Kane. Salah is a lock. KDB I think could have another 200+ pt season if he stays fit so that would mitigate not having Sterling somewhat. I just don't see myself captaining him in either of the first couple of games, whereas Auba at home to Burnley in GW2 is a fine choice.

RB. Doubt they're spending huge money to play him at LB.

Latest squad :-

Heaton (Button)

Digne / TAA / Zinchenko (Kelly) (Lundstram)

Salah (c) / KDB / Fraser / Perez / Westwood

Auba (vc) / Wilson (Greenwood)

Feel quite happy with this. Slight insecurity over having both TAA & Zinch with nothing on the bench.

Stones might be a safer bet with no Kompany. Ottamendi was playing LCB yesterday which is Laporte's spot.

TAA has more upside than Robertson and VVD but slightly less nailed with Gomez able to take his spot.

I've now got down to a decision between Sterling & Barnes (other £6.5m striker) or Fraser & King. Bearing in mind i've got KDB already I'm more tempted to the latter.
The former; lots of 6.5 options - King, Deulofeu, Jota, Murray (6.0)

Another iteration of my team:

Alisson / random £4m goalie
Robertson / Digne / Wan-Bissaka / Dunk / Laporte
De Bruyne / Barkley / Sigurdsson / Perez / Zaha
Wilson / Rashford / Greenwood

I still have £2.5m in the bank. Tempted to replace Dunk with a top 6 player at £6.0m, would upgrade someone in midfield but I really like all of them too much so perhaps I'll keep money for the inevitable Kane -> Wilson/Rashford transfer in a couple of weeks. Barkley is the only doubt I have in midfield but he should have an important role for Chelsea this season, right? At £6.0m looks great value.

Greenwood I'm not sure about either but it would cost at least £2m to improve him to someone materially better...

I have room for one more Liverpool and City player, was thinking about Walker for defence and Firmino for attack.. Technically I could fit them in for Rashford and Dunk and be able to afford that. Rashford should be a lead striker for United this season though so I'm not sure that's a good move. I don't have a clear cut way to swap Greenwood for Firmino as I'm £2.5m short and would find it tough to make it up elsewhere.

My only goal is to win the league between my friends and me (I'm the defeding champion) and they're going quite top heavy with Sterling, Salah and Kane in the same team, I think at this point of season I prefer to have some diversity and adjust as the season goes.

I also focus on defence as that's where you get the best points to £ ratio I think. Getting Laporte and TAA won me the league late last season.

I’ve gone reserved up front with a spread of King, Rashford and Jota. Using the spare cash to fill out defence and midfield for a more even spread in points.

That’s the logic so far anyway

I just realised I got Westwood mixed up with McNeil.

Back to the drawing board.

This game would be a lot of easier if Salah would just feck off.

Stones at 5.5 is the best way into City's defence imo. Only defender now certain to start more than him is Laporte.

Pretty strong apart from the obvious double gamble in attack. Will Kean even start the first game considering he only signed yesterday?

Kelly And Ake out for 2 x £4.5 defenders who rotate well if you are set on 4-4-2.

I am sorry, but could you send me code for the fantasy, too. I know that I am boring, but i would like to play a league with you.

My team:

Alisson
Walker Peters, Robertson, AWB
Salah (C), Sterling, Zaha, Perez
Rashford, Jota, King

Bench: GK Button, Dunk, Kelly, Dendocker

Doubt between this:

Ederson
Van Dijk, Robertson, Walker Peters
Salah(C), Sterling, Zaha, Perez
Deulofeu, Jota, King

Bench: GK Button, AWB, Kelly, Dendocker

Help me, please!

Right. Seeing as I probably won't be joining the caf league this season (just here for tips). I'll share my starting team

Ryan
van Dijk, Robertson, Digne
Salah, Zaha, Sigurdsson, Moura, De Bruyne
Wilson King

0.5m in the bank

2 attackers from Bournemouth due to their fixtures. 2 from Everton. Had Sterling over De Bruyne for weeks but finally downgraded to Kevin as he's an assist machine when fit, good for 200pts. Leave captain on Salah. With Dele and Son out I've got a good feeling over Moura, finished the season well and still scoring in pre-season.

Revise after GW3 as Son and Dele should be back so Moura isn't nailed, can replace for Lanzini or Anderson. Then plan on fitting in Kane by downgrading Digne to Coleman and van Dijk to a 6.0m.

I think I've found balance. I wanted a deep team and I have it:

Alisson / random £4m goalie
Robertson / Digne / Walker-Peters / Wan-Bissaka / Laporte
De Bruyne / Sigurdsson / Barkley / Perez / Zaha
Wilson / Rashford / Adams

All are likely to play, strong bench, two guys from Liverpool and City each and the ones who will likely not be rotated too much. I like the idea of Barkley, and I like Perez and Zaha as they are basically forwards classified as midfielders which is always good. Sigurdsson is a very stead presence.

Dithered between TAA and Robertson but I think I prefer Robertson for now.

Che Adams has apparently had a great preseason so might be worth a risk at a good price, though I had also been thinking about getting Moise Kean and downgrading Laporte or Robertson to Stones or van Dijk. I'll wait and see how he does in the league though.

I have £0.5m in the bank but don't intend to use it for now.

Not a single £10m+ player. That's the way I like it.

Any Spurs fans able to tell if they think Walker-Peters will play much this season? I know he will play the first few but overall is he good enough @GlastonSpur

Anyone tempted to have our man De Gea in goal? 0.5m cheaper than the top premium goalkeepers in Allison and Ederson.

I'm not going down the 4.5m route and thinking behind it is that even if it proves to be a bad call, easier to find 0.5m and fix problem for good with either of the above

Look forward to the inevitable rage when you have a 20pt+ bench.

You can only play 11 guys. You're opening yourself up to a weekly headache of who to play and who to bench and as Cass said, weeks where you inevitably have bags of points then bench.

I've changed my team so many times but I'm pretty happy with it now. Got some big hitters and I'm confident there's plenty of game time for the the others making up the numbers.

- Ederson -
- TAA - - Van Dijk - - Lascelles -
- Salah - - Sissoko - - Capoue - - Sterling -
- Deulofeu - - Kane - - Murray -

Button - Aarons - Dunk - Noble

Think my only dilemma now is Lascelles, Dunk and Aarons. All could be prone to conceding a ton at any given time so will need to rotate. We all know Arsenal's defence isnt great either but with Koscielny going, would it be worth throwing Chambers in there for the early part of the season? Surely he plays ahead of Mustafi?

I know, but ofted I'd just make transfers before the games anyway. Now I can get by a couple of weeks without transfers by just rotating. I know I'll be frustrated but I want to have guys who play on the bench anyway, and I had multiple weeks last year where my 'cheap' bench players scored heavily anyway.
